Hey guys,

Sorry there must be tons of threads on this

I was wondering after getting my NOA-2, what is next with the NVC.

For the affidavit of support, I have a family friend that is going to be my sponsor, what all do I need to get from him? Just last 3 years of his IRS Tax Return (1040) or do I need anything else from him? Would highly appreciate someone's help on this.

Also when they send out the form (I think DS-3032) do they send it to both petitioner and beneficiary? So me being the petitioner, if I turn it in, meaning I would be the choice of agent right?

Last question, does the NVC need my wifes police record, will they ask for it? Also I have read that they want birth certificate, marriage certificate, wouldn't they get all that from the USCIS? What else should I get prepared for the NVC?

Thank You guys a lot in advance, highly appreciate the help.

You will get the ds-230 I think. but your wife needs to fill it..

if the beneficiary is your wife she needs to get Police clearance certificate from every city/country she lived for atleast 6 months.

NVC asks for Original birth and marriage certificates.. You will get a list or you can check

Hey, by going on what that link says, you don't have to submit the original document, you can submit a photocopy..but I submitted all that to the USCIS, wouldn't they get it? Also about the police report, someone on the forum said it is no longer required for Pakistan?

Documents I submitted:

Birth Certificate (for both)

Marriage Certificate

My passport, driver license, ss card copies

Her passport copy

the 2 pictures required for each person

i-130

g-325a- both

my certificate of citizenship

at NVC stage you need to send all Originals not USCIS. at USCIS photocopy only..

This is so strange.. cus NVC states this on our Pakistan documents requirement website lol

Police Records

Not available. Pakistan has no nationwide tracking system in place for criminal activities. Police Character Certificates are available for a fee from District Coordinating Offices. However, they are not an accurate reflection of an individual's criminal record. An applicant who has committed a crime in one district may be able to obtain a clean Character Certificate from that district or another. Given the inaccuracy of these certificates, they are not required for consular processing.

its a hassle here to get PCC anyhow.. need to confirm if its true
