Faith-Based Presenter Tells High Schoolers: ‘Dateable Girls Know How to Shut Up!’

this is appalling, texas. i know you're just trying to stay true to form but, stop.

glad so many kids walked out and/or voiced their disgust.

Motivational speaker Justin Lookadoo gave a presentation at the high school earlier today. According to his rudateable.com website (“R. U. dateable”?) , “dateable girls” should “know how to shut up,” are “soft” and “gentle,” aren’t “Miss Independent,” and remember that “God made guys as leaders.”

And what about “dateable boys”? They remember that “men of God are wild, not domesticated” and that they’re “stronger, more dangerous, and more adventurous” than girls are. They “keep women covered up” because they know that “porn is bad.” “Dateable guys are real men who aren’t afraid to be guys.”

Apparently, young people who don’t fit these outdated and outrageous stereotypes and expectations aren’t ready to make a commitment with God to be “dateable”:

I blame the members of the speaker's committee (sp?) at that school, that decided to get this fella on the campus.

A modicum of research would have identified this guy and his manner of topics for his motivational speeches.

Sheesh. It was the PTA. The PTA at that school made it all happen.

yeah but considering this is texas and their love for archaic methods of sex education..the school probably did research this dude very well.

i remember motivational speakers coming to our highschool. they were always all about following your dreams, believing in yourself, yada yada. i don't understand what is motivational about dating advice that seems to come straight from focus on the family garbage..

texas is a mess.

everything i've ever read about texas and education leads me to believe plenty of public schools are on board with fundamental christian 'secular' sex ed..i know this was supposed to be a motivational presentation but this guy's website reads like the agenda for a southern baptist couples retreat..

no, this was a mandatory assembly, with each assembly/presentation occurring each period.

too many mistakes with that school, at that school. Heads will roll, folk will get fired.
