All,

Got a Question,

I got approval for my wife I-130 petition from the USCIS and the NVC has processed the case, now we are waiting for the interview with the embassy. What could be the reasons behind refusing to issue the visa for her?

Thanks

it'll take approximately 5-6 months to hear back from the u.s. embassy where she's at, depending on where she's from. but I don't see why she'll get refuse...unless lack of evidence, incomplete documents, or unable to answer questions from the consular officer during her interview.

she'll also need to file out some papers on her side like you did. meanwhile, she could prepare to get things rolling (get ready for physical exams, have a few passport photos ready, preparing her shot records such as hepatitis b and mmr, find where she will get her background check from because only certain places that the u.s. embassy will acknowledge the form , find out which doctor's office does immigration phyical that is contracted with the US Embassy, etc..) be determine! give a month then call the U.S. embassy and check on her status. they'll mail her a check list what she needs to do before they give her an interview appt.

People can get denied but if you are prepared it will go better for you.

1. Have all your documents: medical, police clearance, affidavit of support, visa application, etc.

2. Have proof of relationship: call, text, email, and chat logs, photos, copies of itineraries, any proof you have met each other's families, etc.

3. Be prepared for the interview! Know the person you are married to, know where you are moving to and something about the place. What will you do for work, where will you live, etc.

Just be prepared and confident!

I am the petitioner, is there any unknown documents to me that i should send her, or she needs just to bring original documents and medical exam results...etc. NVC has transferred the case to the embassy with all documents I provided (Affidavit of support, visa application...etc.)
