I was hoping that those of you that have been through the interview process could tell me if this sample letter I found online covers everything. I read it needs to state you are a permanent employee and your yearly salary. Thank you for any input!

To whom it may concern,

Name, (social security number), has requested we verify her employment. We are pleased to confirm that she is currently employed as (job title). She has an annual base salary of (yearly salary) and her status is a (permanent/temporary) employee.

We trust that the above information will be of assistance to you. If further information is required, please let us know.

Yes. I wanted to make sure that letter was sufficient and it was leaving out any crucial information.

I work as a nanny for a family on a permanent basis making well over the 125% guidelines. How would I get them to write a letter on company letterhead? That is not feasible for me in my situation. Thanks for the info!

Not sure what to do about that, but seeing as you're privately employed, that should come in the letter - they can't expect a company letterhead if you're not employed by a company, right?

Maybe, in that case, get the letter notarized?

Thank you for that great advice. I will do that and send it Fed Ex and pray it makes it to Tunisia. I will also scan and send to my fiancé. We sure do have to jump through many hoops. I will gladly do whatever they ask if it brings us closer to being together. Thanks again!

I've read that the mail in Tunisia sucks, so I would scan it and email it to him, then send the original either through DHL or FedEx.

Ha! Sucks is putting it mildly :) I will send through Fed Ex and pray it makes it there. I will also scan and email as a back up. I have sent numerous things to Tinisia and still to this day he never received anything. Thanks for your help :)

The embassy I will be using also wants to see the year to date salary. You may want to look at your embassy's website and see their instructions.
