I am going to visit my fiance around January and I want to take my kitty because I have no one to leave her with.... My dad has no time, he works all day and my mom HATES cats....

I have a VERY frisky cat, she is not used to people or strangers and she has never left my house. All her vaccinations are up to date (I kind of tried to keep up since I knew I'd take her someday to visit her "dady").

I would very much appreciate if anyone has any experience taking pets form Peru, I have read some NASTY stories about airlines and pets on cargo or as checked bags, so I was hoping I could take her in the cabin. She is not too big and I already bought a soft kennel which is big enough for her (I am trying to get her used to it already) and I would think it would fit under an airplane sit.

I am planing on flying Delta, since it's the only one who can take me to my destination with only 1 stop.

I would very much appreciate some advice or someone's previous experience or something....

I'd be very greatful :)

Thank you in advance....

Air travel is extremely stressful for pets, I'd try to avoid it. I've used to fly Continental (before the United merger) as they had a very good pet transport service in which there was monitoring all the time. No experience with Delta, but look at the link below:

http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/special-travel-needs/pets/pet-requirements-restrictions.html

Delta does allow in cabin, but you need to need to check on the various restrictions existing. I'd recheck with their local office and try to get a confirmation e-mail of anything you get from them.

As I recall, there is no quarintine with cats. Additionally, I'd have some alternative plans in case someone in the cabin claims a cat allergy. From your message, I'd assume you are flying into Atlanta. FYI, in the US there is a Pet airline, Pet Airways, that does have a flight out of Atlanta (only a few cities for now)
