Is it possible to have the medical done while waiting to receive packet 3? The embassy has mailed it already but it can take up to 21 days to receive I guess :-/ just wondering if we have to wait to complete medical until the packet is in our hands.

You will need the letter from the Embassy in Packet 3 in order to get the medical done. No approved doctor on the list will do it without that letter.

But don't worry, the most you'll wait foe your medical is 1 week.

What you can do though (if you want to do something while waiting), is make sure your fiance is up to date with his vaccines. Have him take anyone he hasn't and get a record... I would go to the same approved physician you plan on going to for the medical... And during his medical, make sure they transcribe the vaccines unto DS3025 (and request a copy) so that once he comes you don't have to worry about I693 for AOS. I wish I had done that and save hundreds and time...

Good luck!!

I thought we'd have to wait, just wanted to make sure I was right. Thanks SO MUCH for the tip! I let my fiance know this and we'll plan on having a copy of the vaccines form for future use on his AOS. Whew! Getting so close and so excited!! ;-)

I believe that medical report is good for 6 months so if the interview is to take place within this timeframe (which is more than reasonable, right ?), then it should be no pb.

You can email the embassy at papcons@state.gov and request that they email you packet 3. Include all pertinent info such as petitioner and beneficiary name and case number.
