police reports k1 visa

Hello,

My fiance is trying to get her police reports together in the Dominican republic. We have a question, she lives in pop, but went to college for one year in Santiago. Do we need to get a police report for both places? If so how can we? We were told that you can only get a police report once per month and the interview is December.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

From the Embassy's website:

  • Police Certificate: Police certificates are required from every applicant age 18 or over for each locality of the country of the applicant's nationality or current residence where the applicant has resided for at least six months since attaining the age of 18. Police certificates are also required from all other countries (except the United States) where the applicant has resided for at least one year. Please see the Dominican Republic Reciprocity Schedule webpage if you have questions about the procedures for obtaining a police certificate.

So I'm assuming the word "or" there means we only need one from Puerto Plata?

Sorry I sound thick, I just don't want to mess this up.

How long ago ago was she in school? Was it recently?

Wherever her home town is, is where you should "without a doubt" get a police clearance. I'm assuming one you have a "record" if any, it stored on the system (which should be country-wide).

The police report will include all his history, It doesn't matter if you lived in Barahona, Santiago , Puerto Plata. It is DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. He will be fine..
