I have noticed too that a lot of people recently have gotten NOA2 so fast. Is there any reasoning behind this?

No, nobody knows why it's happening so fast. The NOA2 for K-1s is around 1-3 months while the NOA2 for CR/IR-1s is around 7-10 months. Go figure.

They usually approve people soon after their Alien registration number is changed. You'll likely receive your NOA2 soon.
