Can my fiance get the blood work and chest xray done by his own doctor and then bring the results with him when he gets his physical by the civil surgeon in Paris? Or do the blood work and chest xray have to be done by the specified Paris doctors, too?

The medical exam must be conducted by the civil surgeon. It cannot be done by your own family doctor.

I know the physical has to be done by the civil surgeon. I'm just asking if the xray and bloodwork portions can be done by the family doctor and bring the results to the civil surgeon. :)

Depends on the doctor.

For example, there is not an embassy approved doctor in the city (or state or north of the country where my fiance lives) so he has to have his medical done in Rio - days before the interview. There are 3 approved doctors in Rio and I heard 2 of them accept blood tests/chest x-ray from any laboratory. So I e-mailed one and he said that he will accept those tests done by a laboratory in the city my fiance lives in. He said it had to be done in the best quality lab. I asked him about a specific place where my fiance already donates blood to and was told by a doctor in that city that it is the best place to get blood tests done.

The doctor said that is fine, so my fiance had his blood tests done there 2 days ago. And it was free.

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

Oh, ok. So even though the offices for the physical, bloodwork, and xray are in 3 different parts of Paris (now doesn't that make sense) he'll most likely still be required to take a whole day to bounce all over the place since there are approved doctors in that city. <_< Great. Well, this whole process is inconvenient so I shouldn't have expected the medical to be any more convenient than the rest of it lol. Thanks!

Exactly - unfortunately.

My fiance has to go to 2 different places in the city he lives in (near Venezuela) for the blood tests/x-rays then travel all the way to the south of Brasil for the medical and the interview. Not fair but the way it works.

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions
