I have been wondering this before i get to where i need to fill this out. I have 5 kids plus myself. I have a child support income plus i own a house and 2 cars that are paid off. I supported him and my family when he was here before but i know they have a income limited for the size. But on the form i do t aee where it would ask for my child support income. Can i put that in? Also can i add in my house and cars? My house is almost paid off with it being worth 65000 as of right now and only 25000 left to pay off or less. Will i get by without a co- sponsor? Thanks

If you will 'get by' depends on how much income you receive annually. There is no separate place to list different types of income. It all gets added together and entered on the same line for annual income. For child support you will need to provide a copy of the court order and pay stubs or bank statements showing the direct deposits you receive to prove you actually the amount you list. For a home, you need to get a professional appraisal, provide documentation of existing liens, and then list the net value. You can only list one of your 2 cars, and provide proof of ownership and net value. Assets are used at 3 to 5 times that of income, so if you are short $2,000 in annual income, you need $6,000 to $10,000 at the bare minimum in assets.

Theses are the poverty guidelines. You have 5 kids plus your foreign fiance(e), so you are looking at a household of 7 > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

It all boils down to the poverty guideline, which would need to be for a household of 7 (assuming you have not sponsored anyone before). You can add child support, as long as you prove that it's a stable and continuous income. I know you can use assets, too, but with a house and cars, I don't know how the calculations are made, because assets only count as long as they cause hardship - it wold probably cause you hardship to lose the house. Hopefully other members can't help on that front.

Well if he isnt allowed to come back and eventually work i will go into hardship. My child support is about 13,000 a year and my car is worth alittle over 10,000 plus my house is asessed at 65,000 my loan is 25,000 so id have 40,000 in what i actually own in my house. Just seeing if i need to get a co- sponsor. Also does my co sponsor need to make enough for all of us or how does that work?

A co-sponsor will just be sponoring your husband. So their household plus him.

And with 5 kids using a car and house as an asset would be shaky. Have you checked around your countries forum to see how they are on assets. I don' t know with such a large family assets will fly for you. You need a strong co-sponsor.

ls your child-support your only income?

And you saying this "Well if he isnt allowed to come back and eventually work i will go into hardship", can be an issue cuz it could be months before he lands a job to support you all. How would him not coming here be a hardship on you if he hasn't been here yet to support you? You have to start thinking like a CO in this and how it looks.

You will need a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor only needs to meet the requirement for their own household size plus the intending immigrant. They do not have to cover the USC and USC children. A co-sponsor can be any USC or LPR domiciled anywhere in the US.
