Yeah I hope it won't be too long. Really need my gc for my post grad residency program. I know you need it too for your college program so good luck to you too.

@ luckyonegr, make sure to review Mexican immigration policies as well, I read somewhere that Mexico is strict when it comes to advanced parole card.

Really? But why would they even care? I am travelling with my passport which is the only thing that is requirierend to entre, right? I was under the Impression that AP will only be on the table at POE back in States?!

I am not sure as to why, but that's what I read from one post. You might want to call Mexican embassy just to be sure. But hopefully you'll have your gc by the time you travel:)

Do you by any chance know where I can find that post? I dont think I will have my GC anytime soon, lol. I got an Inteview waiver letter in Feb and my local office is packed! Now, my husband and I are moving to El Paso (he is military), as we wont have an adress for the first one or two weeks and bc I was afraid sth happened right now to my case and mail will be sent to my old address, I changed my address last night to my husbands Mom address in CA. I am kind of hoping that that doesnt affect the process and might even be helpfull, as the local office to the address in CA says adjusting takes 4 months... which I am over now.

Lets just wait and see what this process holds for all of us, hahaha.

I just stumbled upon that post one time. I remember people saying some countries need a tourist visa to be able to enter Mexico if one only has an advanced parole card to show. I see you are from Germany so I'm not sure if Germans need a tourist visa to enter Mexico. Because advanced parole card is used solely to re-enter the US(it's not a pass to enter any other countries, unless the country you are visiting is visa-free). I'm from the Philippines and I know very well that I need a visa to enter Mexico. Why don't you call their embassy and ask if Germans need to apply for one.. This isn't a problem though if you have a gc.

Oh wow, me and my husband are moving to El Paso too mid June. Got accepted at a dental post grad residency program.. Now they're asking for a photocopy of my gc haha! If I don't get it by end of April, I'll just show my combo card. Hopefully that'll be good enough for them.

Well good luck to you!

Exactly, that is what I meant. An AP does not serve as a travel document. Even if you are visiting another country visa-free, you would still need a passport, so I was wondering why AP would be important to Mexican Immigration.

I have been to Mexico before, so I know you do not need to apply for a visa beforehand, but you will get a tourist card as soon as you enter the country. So I think I should be fine.

Good luck to you as well with your GC. Let us know whenever it gets approved. Will (or did) you change address? What is your local office right now?

Oh sounds good! No problem for you entering Mexico then.. Yeah will keep you guys posted. I mailed my RFE packet on April 17th at Chatsworth, CA field office and was received on April 18th. hopefully they won't put it at the bottom of their files.. As to change of address, I'll wait til we move to El Paso.. If I don't get an approval notification by then, I'll def change my address.

November 2013 filers here, just got an RFE for divorce decree for US citizen spouse, previous marriage. We didnt think it was necessary to include that with the adjustment of status packet because it was already sent in for the k1....oh well it seems easy enough and it would appear we will probably be having an interview as soon as this is sorted out since it came from the field office.

I really hope we will hear something soon but we received the interview waiver letter last month so I'm not really expecting anything soon.
