Interview today - Approved.

Of the folks in the waiting room, there were a couple of lawyers scattered, but to be honest it was pretty empty.

We got called in promptly at the time of our appointment. The IO went through our application, confirmed all the details (like I was on a TN prior to applying for AOS). The IO took our copy of the deed (we bought a house since we got married and submitted the application) as well as copies of the updated car insurance (with both our names on it, with the new address).

The question that stuck with me was "Have you ever had arms training". Didnt expect that one...

Given that we had included so much with the original application, we supplied a few more wedding photos, but that was it.

In and out in 30 minutes, then a short wait for the final security check and I got my passport back, stamped with the temp I-551.

On to another 2 years before we resubmit to get the conditions removed!

That question caught me off guard as well... I stumbled in my answer.

We went for our interview last Thursday, and it was approved!

What they did with our grouping was alphabetical order, regardless of when you checked in (rather annoying as we are towards the end of the alphabet, and one of the first to check in). They also seemed more concerned with joint assets (which was expected), and how we met (which was a surprise); he didn't ask for any evidence. Fairly simple process, just a long wait... We arrived 30 mins prior to our interview time, we got in about an hour and 20 mins after our interview time, and the interview was about 10 mins. I should expect my green card in the mail in about 2-3 weeks.

On to the next phase... in a couple of years!

Good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone, I'm new to this thread. We filed for AOS on November 14th, got a RFE and sent in the response to it on December 17th. It said that I can expect to get a decision or an update after 60 days. Those 60 days are almost over and nothing yet. I also haven't gotten my EAD yet and I'm really starting to worry a little bit. It's just taking so long all of a sudden. I already got my biometrics and all that taken care off. The National Benefits Center is working on my application. Does anyone know why it's taking so long and if this is normal? My I-485 case status says request for evidence response review, and my I-131 and I-765 are still saying initial review. The case number before my number with the same filing date got approved two days ago..It's just so frustrating at this point!

This whole process can be very frustrating for sure. We filed in Nov for AOS, EAD/AP. Biometrics end of November and combo cards arrived second week of January. USCIS case status shows delivery of both combo cards but nothing on I-485 at all. I am sure all will happen in due time but it doesn't make the waiting any easier. Can't wait for those Green Cards and a two year break from all of this!!!

Good luck and hang in there!

I'm in much the same position. I-485 stuck on request for evidence response review. No sign of EAD/AP. Here's hoping for a change of status soon!

I know it can be frustrating; USCIS always has a way of being frustrating...

The only thing I can suggest is to contact USCIS when you reach the 60 days, and hopefully you can speak to someone who is knowledgeable.

I hope everyone who is going through the uncertainty of an rfe response will hear word soon, and better yet; not have to have an interview! :)

Good luck to everyone!

I contacted USCIS today and the customer service representative was very nice and helpful. He set up a service request so hopefully that'll get things going.

I went from "acceptance" to "testing and interview" for the I-485 Case Status. In short, your situation isnt out of the ordinary.

I assume you'd prefer "Acceptance" to "Request for Evidence"!?

NOAs 11/22/13 Bio's was on 12/19/13---- we have not had any action since then, anyone else in this boat with us?

Yup same boat. My I-485 us stuck in request for evidence and EAD is still in initial review. I called and they handed in a service request but that can take up to another 30 days. I did some research and the service centers are actually required to process the EAD within 90 days. Not that we can do anything about it if they don't but it just makes it even more frustrating!
