Received my EAD/AP combo today.

We got ours today! Everything's fine, but when I called my husband from work to make sure he'd actually checked the mailbox, he said "it's a horrible picture!" smile.png Ah well, it's just like any other passport/DL picture, not exactly flattering but we'll live. Very happy to have it anyway!

Interview on Feb 27, so if all goes well, we'll probably only have the EAD for a month. Does anyone know: do you always absolutely have to hand in the EAD at the GC interview, or do they ever let you keep it?

I got mine Yesterday, and our interview is on Tuesday. So that's 5 days of not using it. Good times.

As I understand it, they'll use the same photo for the green card, so get used to it! Is it something you'd want to keep? I'd be concerned of bringing the wrong card with me whenever I traveled!

After 12 days since it was mailed out from USCIS my EAD/AP combo card has finally arrived - USPS have been totally unhelpful and useless but at least it's here. Not impressed with the photograph on it, I don't recall ever having a photo taken where I looked so terrible! HA!

Yeah, I am sure the green card photo will be the same one, and no -- I just like to keep souvenirs of our visa/relationship journey, so it would be purely a memento to put in a box, that's all. I realize he'll need to carry the green card all the time, and I wouldn't want to have two similar cards in his wallet! But I do think they'll take it away at the interview, assuming they approve us of course!

Good luck on your interview, be sure to tell us how it goes!

i am getting mad at these post office people:

The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on January 27, 2014. The USPS tracking number assigned is XXXXXXXX.

so i tracked it and it has no update since friday. On their tracking page it has this:

Expected Delivery Day: Wednesday, January 29, 2014 and it still says in transit.

what the hell is going on? Should i call them?

i am nervous because a friend never got his when on their site it said delivered.

Interview today - Approved.

Of the folks in the waiting room, there were a couple of lawyers scattered, but to be honest it was pretty empty.

We got called in promptly at the time of our appointment. The IO went through our application, confirmed all the details (like I was on a TN prior to applying for AOS). The IO took our copy of the deed (we bought a house since we got married and submitted the application) as well as copies of the updated car insurance (with both our names on it, with the new address).

The question that stuck with me was "Have you ever had arms training". Didnt expect that one...

Given that we had included so much with the original application, we supplied a few more wedding photos, but that was it.

In and out in 30 minutes, then a short wait for the final security check and I got my passport back, stamped with the temp I-551.

On to another 2 years before we resubmit to get the conditions removed!

Oh dear oh dear. USCIS has tried to deliver my EAD/AP card THREE TIMES now. It got returned to USCIS again today, for no apparent reason - it never turned up at our address, I have no idea what's happening. The 'customer service representative' told me that we'd have to wait another 30 days to put in another service request to have it delivered, that they are 'not authorised' to tell me the address they have on file (IE. MY OWN ADDRESS - What the heck?!) I burst in to tears at one point and hung up on her. Then we phoned back and got someone more helpful, we're on hold to a tier two person now. The wait time is 90 minutes. I'm at my wits end.. I have a job lined up, I need to change my SS card etc. We also have our honeymoon booked, which we may not be able to go on at this rate even though our case is APPROVED. SO frustrating.

Meanwhile, our green card application has been stuck on 'request for evidence response review' for nearly two months, so I'll have to phone USCIS again in a few days to sort that out. They have all the correct information but it seems to have got lost in a pile somewhere. Next thing they'll probably tell me they've lost my green card application.

I HATE USCIS RIGHT NOW. That is all. Rant over. I just wanted to rant to some people who actually get it ;)

Your honeymoon is "domestic", right? Please for the love of all things holy tell me you're not leaving the country with an EAD/AP card for the purpose of a "honeymoon"?

I sincerely hope the address thing gets resolved. The USCIS folks did do a lot of "script-reading" on the phone when we changed our address mid-process, but it got done pretty quickly. In your case, if you havent even moved, I'm not sure WTH is going on...

Unfortunately, it could be a Post Office problem. Due to staffing shortages, and the weather, service has not been as good as it should be.

You need to eliminate this as a possibility. Meet your letter carrier, see if he or she is the regular on the route. He or she will be on every day. Make him or her your best friend, bring him hot chocolate or water, shovel your snow, POST YOUR NAME ON THE MAILBOX. You may even wish to give him or her a gift certificate to Starbuck's or McDonald's. These steps will reduce your chances that the USPS is at fault here, and they are returning your mail as undeliverable.
