Hi VJ members,

I am a bit worrying about after I reading all the 221(g) refusal comments as I had a refusal letter after my K 1 interview on Oct 22nd.

My Fiance has made and paid off our wedding plans and booked a flight for me in the middle of Dec this year and I just sent off the rest of the inquired document (Aus Police Cert)last week but updated said would be take several week and someone here said took their months to years?

Is anyone had a visa approval after a few weeks?

Please give me some experiences? Thanks

If you got a 221, that can certainly lead to delays, yes, as you need to wait for them to get back around to your case after they receive whatever it was they were missing, and review it further from there.

Paying for wedding and flights is always a terrible idea before you have the visa in your hands. I imagine there'll be a fair bit of non-refundable dollars spent there.

It's not impossible that you'll still make it here as you planned, but it's probably more on the unlikely side of things.

Hi there

I had a 221g form issued to me at the time of my interview in October. Once I sent the required additional information my K1 visa was issued later that week.

Whilst it is true there is no way of telling when they will issue your visa (as every case is different), the US Consulate in Sydney were pretty efficient in turning around my visa and hopefully it will be the same for yours. Anything is possible and there is still a few weeks left in November yet :)

I wish the best for you both.

Take care
