Joy Behar: "Is there such a thing as a man-made stroke? In other words, did someone do this to him?"

Alexander: "Maybe they gave him polonium."

O'Donnell, laughing: "Oh no, no."

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: "Let me ask you something. Why is everything coming from the liberal perspective a conspiracy? This is a conspiracy."

Behar: "I know what this, that party is capable of."

Irresponsible conspiracy statements like that go way beyond rank and file liberalism...it is in "lunatic fringe" territory.

Nobody takes "The View" seriously anyway. At least I don't. These statements and the Danny Devito episode make it very difficult to take these people seriously.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

I don't watch the view. It's good to hear that these people are not the mainstream. There is nothing wrong with a difference of opinion but this goes way beyond reasonable thought.

Of course...let's not forget a certain former-first-lady-now-senator-from-New-York who went on The Today Show a few years ago, talking about the "vast right-wing conspiracy" against her husband.

This is about as "mainstream" as the 9/11 conspiracy theories.
