Contacted our senator

Hi,

I contacted our senator yesterday asking for help as we are in major need to get our case expedited, and uscis does nothing. Allready a few hours later we got a respond that she was going to help us with our matter but did explain she can not compel the uscis to do what she asks but she will lift our case and try to get them to love it forward. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this a good sign?

We also contacted 2 senators of Florida State, sent letters to expedite our case, got an answers, filled special form one of them sent and sent it back….

Still waiting for our NOA 2.

I contacted the Senators and Congressman in my state. I started in the beginning of Sept. I've gotten just about no response from them except that I should expect more delays. Luckily, my case got transferred to Nebraska last week without their intervention. Because one Senator doesn't respond to any contact, another is too busy worrying about Illegal Immigration, and my Congressman is busy winning right-wing awards from people who want to make Fundamentalist Christianity the law of the land and has no time to do his actual job. (Seriously, telling me the same thing I can read on the USCIS website is not friggin' helpful.)

What I'm saying here is that other people's mileage may vary. For some people it seems to help a lot. For me, all it's done is given me three more people to put on my "waste of resources, don't vote for" list.

well, I did get respond from her only few hours later.. and she told me she was going to help us with our case.. as much as she could, to make the uscis move forward with out petition.

I did the same a few weeks ago. Got a response a week after I sent in a letter. Although we only filed the petition in July, I basically stated in my letter the issues all petitioners are enduring from the USCIS office, noting how much the wait time has been increased and whatnot. The letter I got back in return stated he would see what he could do, but that USCIS only expedites for medical reasons. I sent in the information he requested from me last week, so we'll see. Not getting my hopes up though...But hey, at least I got a response. Luckily my senator is a big immigration advocate.

I faxed two letters - one to the congresswoman and the other to the senator in my state. This was on Oct 31st. I haven't heard anything since. I was hoping to garner some sympathy since my spouse and I have been apart for over two years already because of INS 212(e). If I don't hear anything by Jan 2014, I will try mailing in physical copies of the letters.

Who didn't write you back, Menedez? Just noticed were both from Jersey :X. My grandfather was actually close to Menedez, so trying to pull strings to get an answer from him.

Booker hasn't contacted me back about his Senatorial contact information. After attempting to reach Menendez through email repeatedly, and faxing the information, I went ahead and snail mailed him a copy. No call to tell me that they received it , I had to chase them down by phone for 3 days to even confirm that they got my mail. Then they told me I might have an answer within 3 weeks. And Congressman Smith, I started contacting first, back at the beginning of September. No answer for over a month. So I emailed again. Then I called. They told me that they'd have to send me a privacy waiver. That took them over a week. I got it and sent it back in the same day, then same bullcrap. I called a few days to confirm that it'd been received, and I couldn't get a straight answer for four days. Finally, someone from his office called me back this morning (close to a month since I called for the privacy waiver)... And they told me that my case had been transferred to Nebraska on Nov. 7th, and I'd probably have about 4 more months to wait, and if I didn't hear anything back by March, to contact them again. (Actually, my transfer letter says I should see action within 60 days. Also, my case was never touched during them "looking into" it, so yeah.) They haven't told me anything I didn't already know, actually gave me information that directly conflicts with the information I just got from the USCIS, and were a giant waste of my time.

It's not just my case. I want them to look into just what happened here with ALL of our files, and hold someone accountable for this. I want them to work towards a resolution so that safe guards are in place and this can't happen again in the future. What little recourse we have in this system, they have been working overtime to circumvent. It's bull, and they should not be able to do this. If they're going to have this much power, then SOMEONE needs to be responsible, and held accountable when they screw up.

My congressman's office just called me to obtain more information from me prior to contacting USCIS. We got into a discussion about the delays. He told me he was going to contact them to see if maybe K-3 is the way we should go and that it is only a 5-6 month wait. I told him that is not really true, that there are couples doing that and those are delayed as well. He said he has heard of this news. So, my office actually seemed concerned with all the delays, so that's good...
