My wifes I-130 was approved Nov.4th by the USCIS and now its on to the NVC.

How will I know when my file is shipped to the NVC the reason I asked is because

when it was at the NBC it was transferred to the Atlanta field office and I didn't receive

any kind of notice saying it had been transferred. How I found that out was through my

congressman's office. So how will I know when it gets received by the NVC?

I think you will receive a letter from the NVC once it has been received by them and inputted in their system. My I-130 for my husband was just approved a week ago. Mine has not been transferred to NVC yet. Hopefully it does not take long for it to be transferred.

Not necessarily, or if so, it would be a long time for such a letter to be received once the file has been inputted into the system.

OP, be proactive and call the NVC, don't wait for them to contact you.

dont wait for that letter from the NVC because sometimes it will never be sent to you so the only thing you can do is call the NVC and if the time after your approval date hited 2 weeks and the NVC didnt receive it yet try to contact the customer service and talk with a tier 2 and contact your congressman or senator in the same time to find out about this because sometimes the petitions stays at the uscis and not be sent until you check about it that is my opinion and what i found out from searching alot from defferent cases and people that had these kind of problems between uscis and the NVC stage...keep an eye on your petition because the uscis sometimes closee their eyes on it and leave it there waiting on the desk :)

Estimated 7 -8 days to recieved on NVC after USCIS approval then another 20 days minimum to get into their system to generate your case, I suggest try to call next week Thursday or Friday :)

In my experience just took 18 days to have my case number and invoice after USCIS approval. Recieved NOA2 within 7days

If you don't call you might not know what's going on just remember don't sit behind the desk, let us keep knocking their phone.

Too early to call at this moment wait few more days

ahh ok 18 business days for your case number to be assigned by the NVC since they received your case number

Apparently I'm patiently waiting for my two kids case to get complete(NVC)by then moved up to interview, meanwhile my wife case just had her case# and invoice# recently and I did pay already for AOS then probably this week I will pay for IV at the same time gather all documents may need from her, I am hoping her (wife) case will go forward very easily so that at the end they can come together for the interview. Good luck to us.
