Please help me on this:

My friend is willing to be a joint sponsor. He has past three years taxes filed (2010, 2011, & 2012). He made around $35,000 which is above the poverty guidelines. But it is been 6 months he is not working there anymore because he got injured and he is getting unemployemnt from the government. My question is, can he be a joint sponsor since his last 3 year taxes were above poverty guidelines?

No. The deciding factor is what he makes currently, and whether he is likely to keep making a similar income. Tax transcripts from previous years are used to establish consistency, and help determine this likelihood.
