I checked the status of my application on the USCIS website after entering the NBC*xxxxx number and it showed that I was placed in line for interview scheduling three business days after giving the biometrics. But I have not gotten any formal letter and I understand that the next letter will be when you are actually scheduled. Which tends to take 10 or so days after being "in line for scheduling".

I'd recommend to check your status on the USCIS website and calculate from there when the letter should be mailed (based on a few other earlier filers in your field office), plus mail delivery time.

I check my status online obsessively every day. No change yet. I also sign up for texts and email alerts. Nothing received yet. It may have to do with the local office. Mine is in Miami, which is always a busy one.

I would say that it's cheaper for USCIS to send a copy rather then printing it on the old style of papers. Saving money. I could be wrong but it makes sense to me lol.

Yupp, I hear you. It can easily become an obsession. But here is one data point from a July 2013 filer in that thread (post #708).

For user LARAREYES, it was 18 days from bio to in-line. But the actual interview scheduling letter took another 1.5 months after being in-line. Argh!

Sample size of 1 is not very significant, but perhaps something to go by.

I honestly don't know how often the website database gets updated, but I'd suspect that it is not real-time when a case officer updates your file. That would for data security reasons from a IT security best practice.

I think that it depends on the local office and how close you are from your anniversary eligibility raza was placed in line (and many people in the Houston office according to trackit) 5 days after finger prints I did mine 6 days ago and nothing yet I read another post from the Houston office took 5 weeks to be placed in line (probably because of the 90 days early filing) I'm still waiting and see how long is going to take for me...but I guess that I could take weeks I'm hopping to be placed before mid February good luck guys!!

Btw another thing I read or what I've seen is that the sooner they placed you in line the longer you are inline the people who got the appointment after 5 days of fingerprints were inline for 5 weeks however the guy who took 5 weeks to get inline waited only a week to get scheduled so is a waiting game... Let's keep looking at our cellphones waiting for the text to arrive... Me in particular I am obsessed...

I hear you, i am not obsessed but close to . lol. I have been very lucky in this whole process so i am confident it will still be fast and easy for me. I am just not a patient person. Wanna be over and done with this!!. I also hope it is finished by June. As i have a big trip planned and would like to have my passport. Sigh

The good thing for you is that you are already in line a lot of the delays are the background checks taking longer than usual when you are inline that means that you already passed this stage is just a matter of waiting now!! :)

This thursday it will be 2 weeks since my biometrics and nothing yet.

It's okay don't get worried. I had to wait a month and a half to get in line. They usually put you in line once you are 1 month away from your 3rd or 5th year anniversary. Good luck.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know that. My anniversary will be February 28th so i guess by March i will be put inline. More waiting for me it seems.

Got My biometrics done today, it was an early Walk-in. Not too many people, I was in & out in about 20 minutes.

Lets see now, how much time it will take to get In-line for the interview.

Fingers crossed, one step closer.

I had my bio on the third and I have still no update-((

was just wondering why some backgroundchecks take 3 days and mine takes obviously longer..and I worked for the police dept so I was fingerprinted and the hole nine yards..

I don't believe there is any pattern based on the eligibility date. Either one is elivible or not. 90 day early filing should not make a difference. Frankly I believe it all has to do with the load of the local office and the speed of agencies providing background checks.
