I would say that it's cheaper for USCIS to send a copy rather then printing it on the old style of papers. Saving money. I could be wrong but it makes sense to me lol.

Well yesterday turned into a big disaster. I went to USCIS Website to see if the numerous times Monday night and checked 3 times Monday morning to see if the St Louis Office was closed since it was closed on Monday. It did not show the office as being closed so left at 4 am. It was a long trip to St Louis with snow covered Interstate, it took 4 hours to travel 200 miles. At 8 am I decided to Call USCIS to make sure the office was open. I was informed at this time that the office was closed for the day. We were only 45 minutes away, so it took another 4 hours to drive back home. I decided to check the website and to no surprise it was still not listed as closed go figure. I was informed that when the office opens back up we can go back and see if they will do the biometrics because it is done case by case in-between regular scheduled appointments. So decided to just wait for the new appointment to be scheduled. After the office being closed for 2 days and maybe even today the office will be packed with walk-ins. So now the wait goes on again. Glad to hear that others are getting their bio's done. Have a great day.

I know you are 200 miles away from the ASC, but re-scheduling will put you behind...I am sure the people at the ASC knows lots of applicants could not make it on time. Thus, If I were you, I'll try one more time before asking for re-scheduling. Play the "200 miles trip" card to the people at the ASC and see if that get is done. just my opinion.

I agree with trocheeo I went today mainly out of curiosity because I didn't want to have problems since I went with two infants and they did not seemed to care that I went early if you have to travel so far they won't send you back

I know you are 200 miles away from the ASC, but re-scheduling will put you behind...I am sure the people at the ASC knows lots of applicants could not make it on time. Thus, If I were you, I'll try one more time before asking for re-scheduling. Play the "200 miles trip" card to the people at the ASC and see if that get is done. just my opinion.

I completely missed my ASC appointment by 2 days and explained my situation to the lobby attendant. He didn't even ask for an explanation and processed my papers right away. In and out within 15 minutes. I was so lucky! Sometimes these offices are very lenient with application appointments. Most allow early walk-ins so coming in a few days late shouldn't be a problem. But if your office is 200 miles away, it's a gamble that could cost your time and gas =/ hope u can get your rescheduled time soon!

Didn't realize my appointment was on 1/7/14. I have always had it in my mind that my appointment was on 1/9 for some reason. Got ready today to go to the office and realize the appointment was for 2 days before!! I panicked but went to the ASC office anyway to just try my luck. I was afraid that my whole application was gonna be considered "abandoned". Lobby attendant took my papers and didn't even ask for an explanation why I'm coming 2 days later. It helped that the office was empty (only had 1 group of people ahead of me). Didn't even wait to get fingerprinted. Checked in and left the place all within 15 minutes! I consider myself lucky!!!

Ok so i guess when they moved my packet from Charleston to Washington, it pulled me out of line. Today i checked my status onine and it said on January 8th i was placed inline for interview scheduling. So im assuming that means Washington has my packet now and they will schedule me an appointment soon. Charleston didnt know what a 319(b) case was and would have had me in-line until i was 3 year eligible in August......(Which is why i chose washington in the first place since its become obvious other USCIS offices know so little about this type of case.)

I received the letter for the Bio, it is on Jan 27th, will try to do a walk in early next week. Orlando ASC is usually almost empty, going overseas next week, and want to take care of that before leaving.
