I would say that it's cheaper for USCIS to send a copy rather then printing it on the old style of papers. Saving money. I could be wrong but it makes sense to me lol.

Good luck raza I think that they out you right away because you didn't apply within the 90 days before the date so yours might move faster than ours, did you get finger printed here in sugarland? I have my appointment next week but my relatives are out of town so you think they will allowe me to go in with my babies in the stroller?

Got a call today telling me that my A file was being sent to Washington from Charleston. I emailed the officer i was previously in contact with in Washington and her replied:

I’ve just confirmed that your case is en route to our office, so I expect it to arrive within 7 to 10 business days. We will be in touch as soon as it does, so we can schedule your interview. We hold same-day ceremonies on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we will be sure to offer those dates to you, once we receive your file.

So now I just wait for it to arrive there and hopefully will hear something after 10 days. ^_^

Had my biometrics today but almost didn't make it!

My appointment was for 10am in Pittsburgh and the office is about a two hour drive. I had planned to leave the house at 6am to take into account traffic and the -13F temperatures we were experiencing but my car had something else in mind! When I tried to start the car this morning it just wouldn't turn over.

After several attempts I started panicking and had to call my roadside assistance. They were able to send someone out but they didn't arrive until 8:30. Meanwhile it's almost a whiteout with the snow and gusting wind!

Finally got the car jump started and I was on my way. Didn't make to the office until 11:00 and was worried the whole way there that they wouldn't see or that there would be a problem. When I arrived the security officer didn't seem to care I was late! All told, was in and out in about 10/15 minutes.

Moral of the story: make sure your car's in good working order before going to your appointment!

Thanks Paulette. Yes I had the biometrics done at Sugar Land location. I saw a couple of ppl with young kids. Folks at the center didn't seem to care. Your stroller won't be an issue.

Hi guys - finally got today my biometrics appointment scheduled for the 20th, updating below. Seems it got delayed about a week either because of the holidays or the confusion I had with mail clerk. Might do an early walk-in as my new job requires a lot of traveling and I might be abroad then.

I still have to read your last posts to figure out what's the deal with the in-line for interview thing. Also figure out when I have to start studying.

I have so much to learn/study at new job already that it seems overwhelming to also study for the interview... Still... this is all so exciting! :)

01-02-14: Bio Letter Sent Date (long time... not a good idea to send application before holidays...)

01-07-14: Bio Letter Rcvd'
01-20-14: Original Bio Date -- duh. they booked me on a Federal Holiday and the center was... closed.
03-07-14: Actual Bio Date (walk-in)

03-11-14: In line for Interview

03-12-14: Interview letter
04-17-14: Interview - Passed. Phew!

04-23-14: Oath Ceremony queue | scheduled (both at the same day)

04-26-14: Got Oath Ceremony letter in mail

05-09-14: (Friday) Oath Ceremony. Done! + Applied for US Passport Book & US Passport Card (expedited)

I had Bio on January 2 and have not received anything yet. I signed up for emails and text notices. I also hope i can have it done by March but we shall see because my 3 year anniversary is February 28th and i heard that you are not even considered for interview until after your anniversary date.

Well yesterday turned into a big disaster. I went to USCIS Website to see if the numerous times Monday night and checked 3 times Monday morning to see if the St Louis Office was closed since it was closed on Monday. It did not show the office as being closed so left at 4 am. It was a long trip to St Louis with snow covered Interstate, it took 4 hours to travel 200 miles. At 8 am I decided to Call USCIS to make sure the office was open. I was informed at this time that the office was closed for the day. We were only 45 minutes away, so it took another 4 hours to drive back home. I decided to check the website and to no surprise it was still not listed as closed go figure. I was informed that when the office opens back up we can go back and see if they will do the biometrics because it is done case by case in-between regular scheduled appointments. So decided to just wait for the new appointment to be scheduled. After the office being closed for 2 days and maybe even today the office will be packed with walk-ins. So now the wait goes on again. Glad to hear that others are getting their bio's done. Have a great day.
