I just Called DOS and after 5 weeks of waiting got my case number..I really hope things move on much faster now as I am praying to spend Christmas with my love!

Can anyone tell me if I should call NVC and see what the status is? DOS told me the case is at NVC now,and gave me a case number, but when I go on the CEAC website it says:

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
At NVC
Immigrant Visa Case Number: BNS2013811---
Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) for the next step in the processing of your visa petition. If you have misplaced the instructions sent to you by the NVC or did not receive them, please contact us athttp://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html for additional information.

There's nothing else at NVC for you. Your casefile should be on its way to your embassy. You should be on their website getting your forms and such together. What is the procedure for your embassy? Most K1's email once they get case# giving the embassy a heads up and then getting instructions what to do next with medical, pay visa fee make appointment.

NVC processing is only relevant for immigrant visas. K-1 is still considered non-immigrant, and chances are your file has already been forwarded to Buenos Aires, or will be very soon. NVC will not need anything from you. It's all embassy from here! Congrats! Edited by Yang-Ja
