I don't think the republicans have a contender. It therefore become irrelevant what baggage Hillary might bring. Have republican's ever nominated a woman for presidency? I don't think so.

In the UK there was Thatcher (of course her policies are seen in a negative light today).

Not without reason. She was a friend to city bankers, not so much to blue collar industry.

Then we can elect a Libertarian.

Democrast have never nominated a woman either. Both have nominated ONE woman for vice President. The point is????????????

No one heard of Bill Clinton until a few months before he was elected.

Hillary's gonna get all (I do mean all) the female votes, when she runs for office.

No. I was very relieved when she didn't get the nomination.

It's important who the first female president ends up being, even more important than the first black, hispanic, Asian, and perhaps even gay president is. She essentially has to be the best president ever, or we'll be faced with "oh, god we don't want to go THAT route again" every time a woman tries to run. For some reason, it seems to be more acceptable to blame faults in a woman's performance on her gender (hormones, "PMSing", sensitivity, etc.) than it would be for someone's race.

I don't think Clinton would be a terrible president, I'm just nervous about her being the first female president.
