I am feeling worried about not being able to book an interview..my K1 petition is valid only until Dec.28 sad.png I am hoping that us embassy opens up slots soon!

You petition can be extended up to a year by the embassy so don't worry about that.

If you have your interview scheduled you don't need to worry about it, they will extend automatically.

I just called an immgration attorney in Manila and they said that the reason we are getting the message:

"There are currently no appointments available."

is that we must first wait to get an actual NVC notice (packet) then the slots will open up. We haven't received that yet just have the Case number and we can see on the site to track the case it says it is READY for interview schedule but we havne't receive the actual notifcation. Not sure this is true? Does anyone know?

There is no packet from NVC just a letter with the MNL #... not too exciting ;) . Your lawyer is full of s_ IT. ... and I am sure you know what IT is... ;)

As long as you have your MNL # all is good. Just keep watching the appointment site, looks like some show up sporadically now, I would guess shortly they will open up January.

Just got interview booked for January 2, I wanted december. They told me to get an earlier date I would have to cancel this one first and then try to get an eaelier date. Does anyone know how to see if there are earlier dates without having to cancel this appointment?

You should be able to see the earliest available appointment date on your online profile <cgifederal site> home page, sis. Bottom-most part of the left panel.

Not seeing what you mean. How would you schedule for an earlier appointment though since you have to cancel the first one so you take as risk of losing both?

Please see attached screen capture in cgifederal site, sis. I have encircled the area I was referring to in blue. In my case, since I'm done with my interview, no dates would show up. Log in to your online profile and check it out.

However, this only shows the earliest date with available slots for interview. You're right, you can only re-schedule appointment after you have cancelled. There is a risk definitely, as you know the slots get filled up quickly every minute. Just be mindful that there are at least tens / hundreds who are also looking out for an earlier appointment date.
