How long does it usually take for the embassy to interview one after they receive packet 3.5?

There's no saying. Some get it in a week, some wait for 3-4 and even more months. It's all about luck with this embassy. They need to review some of our documents, and it's going to be 2 months... no updates no nothing. While they reviewed someone elses that I know in a week. There is no procedure, routine, policies, anything. Just your luck will help!

You said it pretty well.

To me it seems like, even US embassies run on desi clock/timeline in our countries.

My case has already taken about 5 weeks, but the embassy insists they only received it 3 weeks ago. I am thinking, they haven't even touched the cases they received a week or two before the Eid holidays. But I guess, all we can do is wait, wait and wait....

Even my the immigration liason at the congressman's office told me she can't understand what's taking them so long to review the documents. I understand they have to take care of 1000s of cases a day, but it should be first come first served basis. How can they choose which case they want to work on and which cases they do not want to work on?

But anyway.. lesson learned from all this... do not depend on the embassy to do future planning!!
