Like I said, you'll never fix the root violence problem. It will always exist. People will always kill each other. That doesn't mean we shouldn't work towards limiting that amount that are killed by making its "less easy" I think the availability and gun culture has actually put killing in play for some people. Let two guys with road rage slug it out. The ease and availability of the gun tied in with "God given right to defend themselves with it" makes people too hasty to bring the gun out in a situation that only requires it the second they brought it out.

I think the problem needs to be treated too, not just the symptoms.

Fix that and we can knock over 40% off the murder rate if the were evenly statistically represented in that statistic.
