CGI CITIC Bank and Guangzhou Embassy relationship

SNAFU - I am referring to our government. My fiancée went to her interview and was interrogated by a Chinese woman in the so called American Embassy. She said the majority of the employees are Chinese, even the police. Am I missing something?

Anyway this woman was very rude and was not very helpful. When the interview was finished the woman shoved a paper at her and did not say a thing. My finance left the embassy not understanding what to do. On the website it says if she is declined the interviewer will explain what she has to do. That did not happen.

She was turned down because the woman did not like my 2012 Tax transcript. She wanted a copy of my complete 2012 tax return. So I got online to find out the whole process of what happens now. The paper was white and nowhere did it nave a number 221g which is supposedly what the paper was. After going to ustraveldocs.com I found out what needed to happen. I sent her a copy of my 2012 tax return. She took that and the other documents requested with her passport and headed to Beijing to the CITIC Bank which said on the website they would expedite the paperwork.

There were only five CITIC BANK'S in China that would do this. The bank did not have a clue what she was talking about and after going around and around they gave her the address to put on the envelope and told her to put it in the mailbox. I don't know if the US Government is communicating with the Chinese but it sure doesn't sound like it. The mew process with CGI Stanley is more screwed up than ever and it was supposed to make it simpler. I was not happy about her dropping her passport in the mail. I would have felt much better if she would have used EMS. According to the ustraveldocs website she was supposed to just drip off her paperwork, get a receipt and be on her way. So now I am left to worry whether the paperwork and her passport will make it to the embassy.

ya, sorry, there's only 5 CITIC bank branches for expediting the shipment,

but

all the rest of the branches will send it.

if you sense a disconnect between CITIC, CGI/Stanley, and USConsulate/Guangzhou/IV Unit - you are not alone.

My wife had mostly the exact issue you did, but I did some research about this, and was able to talk to CGI/Stanley helpdesk human at the Guangzhou office and track stuff sent in and out of CITIC Bank Courier - their website tracking (for me) was useless - I used a telephone, instead.

keep checking ceac.state.gov for status, daily. When it shifts to 'ISSUED' , expect the visa packet within another 2 weeks.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ever since CGI Stanley got into the thick of things at Guangzhou, it has resulted in only tales of disconnects, disjoints, poor service, no service!

To OP: I sincerely hope that all works out to your satisfaction.

Good luck.

YMMV.

My wife called 69Airhead's finance in China. Low and behold their was a major communication gap between US and China. She went to the correct CITIC Bank branch in Guangzhou, they accepted her paperwork and gave her a receipt. The problem is that when she started asking them questions, who, what, why, where and when the employees seemed rude it went down hill from there. The bottom line is they are waiting for a review of the missing items, her passport was turned in with current photos as requested and 69 Airhead is standing by for a completed Visa.

A&B thanks for parking this in the correct lot.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Well Said, well said!

Their website was a complete joke for me, too, Darnell.

The old system never seemed to have these sort of issues from what I heard.

CGI/S isn't just failing with us state department contracts....

Remember that the same company responsible for the Obamacare website disaster (CGI) is the same company responsible for the ustraveldocs site debacle! Government spending at its finest.
