Hi Everyone,

My fiance's interview is on Tuesday at the US Embassy in London. We've waited for what seems like forever for this. Does anyone have any advice or words of wisdom to share with us?

We've reviewed our file to make sure he has everything that he needs. He has it all in order AND extra supporting evidence that they may ask for. So far the process has been smooth (although more time consuming than we originally expected).

We're hoping everything goes well, and he can get his visa very quickly. He'd like to come on Friday, because his birthday is on Saturday.

I have two questions...

1. How soon did you get your visa?

2. Was your interview less painful than you expected it to be?

The london interview is probably one of the easiest ones compared to other consulates. I was asked 3 simple questions and that was it. After the interview you think to yourself 'is that it' after all the stress you have gone through. Your fiance will be absolutely fine. I have never known a case not to be approved so tell him not to worry about a thing. In terms of when you get the visa, I got mine the next morning but they will advise you at the embassy it can take up to 5 working days to be delivered. Thats usually the most amount of time though. August 23rd 05 - Visa Approved!!!

AOS and EAD

December 5th 05 - AOS and EAD sent

December 16th 05 - NOA's received for both AOS and EAD

December 31st 05 - Receive letter for AOS interview

February 6th 06 - AOS Interview - APPROVED

February 16th 06 - Biometrics Appointment

February 22nd 06 - EAD Approved via e mail

February 27th 06 - EAD card in mail!!!

March 6th 06 - Got a job!

March 17th 06 - Green Card Approval via e mail

March 18th 06 - 'Welcome to America' letter arrives

March 24th 06 - Green Card Arrives!

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

3/20/07 - Rec'd Social Security Card

3/21/07 - Checks Cashed and Case Status online

3/24/07 - NOA1 Rec'd for AOS and EAD

3/27/07 - rec'd Biometrics appt letter - scheduled for 4/20/07 @ 11:00am

4/02/07 - "touched"

4/20/07 - had biometrics appt.

4/21/07 - rec'd letter stating case was transferred to CSC

5/22/07 - rec'd Case Pending at CSC email

6/25/07 - EAD card production ordered

7/7/07 - EAD "touched"

7/7/07 - AOS "touched"

8-6-07 - Rec'd EAD Card in the Mail

5-20-08 - AOS INTERVIEW - APPROVED - PASSPORT STAMPED

7-2-10 - Received 10 year green card in mail

Tony said that the interview was a piece of cake. Take all of the documents required. The rest was easy he said. They actually forgot to take his fingerprints, so he had to go back the next couple of days and have that done. He received his Visa at that time from the embassy.

Everything will go fine, so try to relax. It is very hard, I know. At least you know that London Embassy has a good track record for easy interviews with positive results!

Once Ewen actually got to the interview itself (after waiting outside and inside the Embassy), he said it was over and done with in less than five minutes. I don't believe they asked anything more penetrating than how and when we met and what I did for a living. I'm sure your sweetie will be fine. Best of luck! :)

We did both K3 & CR1 visa's, got both!!- I returned to England for my CR1 interview after first arriving on a K3 visa!!

May/25th 2006- Green card arrives in the mail................YAY!!

19th June 2006 I Had to go to the Social Security Office to get my number, the DS-230 didnt work for me!!

26-June-2006- Social Security# arrived in the mail....YAY!!

Feb 2008 lift conditions <<<reminder to self!!<<<< went to England for a visit instead, no rush right, 90 days is a long time,LOL

Removing Conditions Begins

Mailed I-751 April 12th 2008

signed for @ NSC April 16th

NOA date April 16th

Conditional GC expired May 5th 2008

Biometrics Detroit May 10th 2008

10 year Green card ordered August 20th 2008

It was more of a 30 second chat! The visa was delivered before I got home the very next day but as i wasnt yet there to sign for it...!

Thanks so much everyone! His interview is in 6 hours and 20 minutes! Although I've heard it's often a wait around the Embassy. He's going to call me before he gets to the Embassy, and it'll be middle of the night here for me, but I don't care! I probably won't sleep anyways :D

I'm hoping he's all done before I have to be at work tomorrow. He's going to call me as soon as he can. I teach first grade, and I told him to call my classroom even if I'm in the middle of a lesson. I hope that doesn't happen though because I don't want to cry in front of my students!

It went well...he passed! The interview was March 7th (Tuesday), he received his visa the next morning, and he came over to the states on the Friday (10th). He's been here for just over 2 weeks.

Our wedding is this coming Saturday, so we have a busy week. His parents flew in on Saturday for our wedding, so it's been fun having them here. It's his mom's first trip to the states.

All is well!

And we saw James Blunt in concert tonight which was really cool!
