My fiance and I were recently approved for the K1 visa, but we need a sponsor before we go to the interview. My dad is going to be the sponsor. Does he fill out the I-864 or does he fill out the I-134? Do I fill out the I-134? I'm unemployed because I'm living with my fiance in Russia right now. I have a job waiting for me when I get back to the U.S.

Besides the I-864 is an A, AZ, P, W suffix, I just downloaded all the forms and read the instructions., but back then only the I-894A was extra. My attorney suggested my wife feel out this form as well, so we would be entering our marriage equally. Didn't need a co-sponsor, so didn't read that section. But many on this board needed a co-sponsor, so I do know its possible.

Also many sponsors on this board been hung by this I-864.

What do you mean by "many sponsors hung by I-864"? I don't know what to do. I guess I'll ask my dad to fill out I-864 and I-134 affidavits. And I will also fill them out... I don't want to show up the interveiw with the wrong forms or the wrong person filled them out.

US citizen sponsor brings and marries and immigrant here with the required I-864, but that immigrant has different ideas rather than staying with the sponsor and even gets a divorce. Even with the divorce, US sponsor is responsible for supporting that person above the poverty level plus paying any bills that immigrant runs up with public aid.

Tons of this is one on the web, here is just one of them:

hi

yes you do, you are the primary sponsor as you are petitioning your fiancé. your dad is your joint sponsor, and will fill out another i134

when you marry and do the AOS, the same will happen with the i864. you will fill out the form and your dad will fill out another as joint sponsor

you will have to write a letter each time because you have to justify why you don't work and pay taxes

Typically, you the main petitioner will fill out the I-864, you, and your dad will fill out the I-864a. So you have to send in both.

I tried to read the special instructions for the I-134, but ended up getting a headache, maybe somebody else can help you with this. Something about visa applications, over my head.

I have the same problem. What happened? What did you need to do? Which forms - when and where? Did you file any of them with your I-129F,  NVC, embassy, or where did you file them? Did you pay any fees? Please let me know. thanks.

This is an old inactive thread. Much better to post your question as a new thread on the K1 forum !!!!!
