What is the current fee for obtaining a Visa from the Vietnamese Consulate...It was $100 in January and I was wondering if that fee has increased.

I misunderstood your question because I thought you want to file tourist visa to US.

I sent my passport to DC for visa to VietNam last month and the price was 70 dollar per one time entry for 3 months.

You need to send them an email and tell them this " I want to make sure I pay the correct fee for one time entry of 3 month, That is 70 dollar right? ".

They gave you different prices for every time you asked and even the price is different between DC and CA.

Thanks for the informations, y'all. My concern is I'm leaving for Vietnam on January 26th, 2014 and my passport isn't here yet. Now I know I need the passport to get my Visa. Am I running out of time or is there a service I can use to help obtain my Visa fast? This is my first visit to Vietnam so I'm a newbie at this. :(

There are two ways to obtain visa:

1) Leaf visa which is required the copy of your passport.

2) Send the passport to Embassy.

You can ask for fast service which costa you 30 dollar more. What did you mean your passport isnt here yet? You meant you dont have passport to send to Embassy? It usually takes 5 business days to get your visa including shipping time.

Yes, I am waiting for my passport to arrive so I can send it out. If I have to pay extra, I will. Well, if it takes only about 5 days for processing/shipping then I'm okay. My buddy who is going with me has already received his passport and he wanted to wait until I had mine before sending his. So many things I still have to do for my trip though. Thank you for the information.

Let us know when you receive the Visa, ConGau1981. At least I would like to know. Hehe.

True this is a great deal...its a visa waiver. I have the same because I am married to a VN citizen. Also available to Viet Khieu...I'm not entirely familiar with those rules. Anyways, I doubt the OP qualifies. Nice deal though if you can get it.

Take a look at visa on arrival as an earlier poster suggested. Easy to do..you send a scanned copy of your passport, pay a fee online, pay another fee when you arrive. The additional fees aren't bad. You can expedite the process with the consulate or embassy but I think you will find (check) it's cheaper to go the visa on arrival route.

I have done visa on arrival and taken my passport to the embassy in Washington. I was always a bit nervous about mailing my passport but that's just me.
