Hey guys.. I just read the Kingston embassy website and says: In

addition, if you are a Jamaican resident and are seeking a visa in a category that requires you to be
unmarried (IR2, IR3, IR4, F11, F22, or F24) and you are aged 18 or older, you can present a
Certificate of No-Impediment to Marriage issued by the Registrar General’s Department on
security paper.....
Question: Is this mandatory ? and if so..
Do you know how long it takes ? Thanks in advance :)
PS: I'm 19

My fiance got his in 2-3 days; it was pretty straight-forward but I think he did have to go out at least twice and then you pay at one place and pick up at another. Typical Jamaican beauracracy but there you go. :)

Do they always ask for it? I'm in category F1, and many others in my category who went to the Kingston embassy weren't asked for it.

Have you tried applying and paying online?? I got married in October and applied for my Marriage Certificate online and used my credit card to pay for it. I'm not in a hurry to get it yet, so I chose 30 days. Maybe you can apply online and select the emergency or 1/2 days option. If not, then you visit the RGD in person and do it.
