Hi there everyone,

I know that there have been some of us here on VJ who have come to the USA on K-1's and that have been approved without having an interview. I did not find a post that had progress reports and wanted to make a post for future K-1's who may not have an interview or who receive the "Potential Interview Waiver Case" letter from USCIS. I was wondering if each of us who have been approved without an interview or have received the "Potential Interview Waiver Case" letter could share our timelines to give future and other K-1's an idea of the time frame it could take for approval. I'll start:

Filed AOS June 11, 2013

NOA1 Date was June 17, 2013

Biometrics was June 24, 2013

Received "Potential Interview Waiver Case" letter October 21, dated for October 16, 2013

Approved AOS November 6, 2013

GC Received is TBD, will update post when I get GC

 

 

N400 - Naturalization                                                                                                        U.S. Passport

Aug 05, 2018 (Day 1): Applied for Naturalization online                                                  Oct 01, 2019 (Day 1): Sent US Passport Application

Aug 06, 2018 (Day 2): Check Cashed, NOA1 received online                                         Oct 08, 2019 (Day 8 ) : Passport trackable 

Aug 11, 2018 (Day 6): Recvd notification that Biometrics appointment scheduled       Oct 17, 2019 (Day 17) : Received Passport

Aug 13, 2018 (Day 8): Received biometrics appt letter online                                        Oct 21, 2019 (Day 21) : Received Naturalization Cert. back

Aug 28, 2018 (Day 23): Biometrics Appt

July 01, 2019 (Day 327) : Oath Ceremony I AM NOW A US CITIZEN!!!!

Good idea, here's mine:

March 06, 2013: AOS Package sent

March 12, 2013: I-485, I-765, I-131 NOA's
March 29, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

Sept. 05, 2013: Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case received

Nov. 2, 2013: AOS approved (no interview)

Nov. 7, 2013: Welcome Letter received

Green Card currently still in production, hopefully to be mailed out soon.

On a side note, I think it is hard to make out a general timeline because approvals at the NBC seem so completely out of order and all over the place. There are approvals for June and even July right now, while some people from 2012 and early 2013 are still waiting...

[*] 15 May 2013 - Moved from MN to LA; [*] 17 May 2013 - Applied for a new SS card/filed an AR-11 online (unsuccessfully), therefore called and spoke to a Tier 2 and changed the address; [*] 22 May 2013 - Address updated on My Case Status (finally can see the case numbers online); [*] 28 May 2013 - Letter received in the mail confirming the change of address; [*] 31 July 2013 - Went to Romania; [*] 12 September 2013 - returned to the US using the AP, POE Houston, everything went smoothly; [*] 20 September 2013 - Spoke to a Tier2 and put in a service request; [*] 23 September 2013 - Got "Possible Interview Waiver" letter (originally sent on August, 29th to my old address, returned and re-routed to my current address); [*] 1 October 2013 - Started a new job.

I understand that there is no rhyme or reason, that USCIS is all over the map right now, but I think as time goes by they may get more fluid (maybe my optimism) and as others share other K-1's may get an idea. I just figure may be something good for the future.

So it took you more or less 5 months to get the GC. I got an interview date and it will probably take me about the same time. Hopefully :)

July 13, 2013 = Arrived in the U.S. (Port of Entry: Hawaii)

August 3, 2013 = Got married!

August 29, 2013 = Mailed application for Adjustment of Status

September 7, 2013 = Received NOA1

October 1, 2013 = Biometrics done.

November 20, 2013 = Scheduled interview.

December 2, 2013 = Green Card received! The letter said they approved my application on Nov 22.

Yep it took about 5 months. Good luck at your interview and I hope you get that interview date soon.
