HI,

We want to move to USA and trying to find a job there. We are a family of me, my wife, 1 yr old kid and my parents. I have relatively no idea except for thatI would be need a H1B Visa and an employer who will sponsor my Visa. Now, if I move first, my wife and son and come later and can she try to find a job in USA after she moves in with me, or would she need a work visa? And actually what kind of visa they would need to come and live with me.

Another situation is that my wife gets a job there. In such case, would I be able to get a visa to accompany her with my son. What visa would we need to move in with her? Would I be able to find a job there after we move in with her or would I need a separate kind of visa for that?

First step is going to be finding a job that is willing to hire you and sponsor you.

Your wife, if on a derivate H visa, cannot work. She'd need a separate work visa for herself. You're parents would need to qualify on their own. There is no derivate visa for parents.

Boiler and CW are right. If you get an H1b, your spouse and your children can get H4 visas to accompany you. Your parents cannot get H4 visas based on your H1b, only your spouse and minor children. Your wife and children will not be able to work on their H4 visas, but will be allowed to reside in the US for as long as your H1b status is valid. Likewise, if your wife gets an H1b visa, you will qualify for an H4, but which allows you to live with her, but not to work.

Keep in mind that, as Boiler said, H1b visas are fairly tricky to obtain. You will need a job to sponsor you, and this cannot be just any job. The job must be in a specialized field, and one which requires at least a Bachelor's degree.

For both you and your wife to work legally, you will both need separate H1b visas.

For both of you to work, you or your wife would have to qualify for permanent residence through employment. This is a much trickier and lengthier process than an H1b. Many H1b workers do get permanent residence after a certain amount of years. As a permanent resident, you could sponsor your wife and kids (if they're still unmarried and under 21) for permanent residence as well. After 5 years as a permanent residence, you should be eligible to apply for US citizenship, at which point you can petition for your parents to move to the US as permanent residents as well.

If you happen to be an Australian citizen, there is also an E-3 visa that you may qualify for, rather than H1b. E-3 visas tend to be less tricky, and your wife may work in the US too if you're an E-3 visa holder. But you have to be an Australian citizen.

Or a TN visa if you are Canadian or Mexican, but still only for specific and specialized job.

You can't, there is no dependent visa other than H4.

Your parents cannot move to US as your dependant.

There is no visa for them, if both you and your wife want to work than you both of you need H1.

Also you cannot move to US and look for job, you need to have a job and an employeer who is willing to sponsor your H1.

Only spouses and children can accompany on an H4. No visa would allow for your parents to move with you. They would have to qualify for a separate visa on their own merit.
