Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what the procedure is like when you enter the US on an Immigrant Visa with an I-551 stamp upon endorsement?

Does the customs officer take you into a separate room? And what goes on in this back room when and if they take you? My mother is flying in with me and this is our first time going through this procedure. Am I allowed as the petitioner to go with my mother to the room in the back if they ask her to go with them?

Thank you for your help

Side note- POE is JFK, any feedback on the procedures there would be great, thank you!

I flew with my Mother too on her first US entry. She fall in line with me at the USC line. I handed our passport at the same time. The custom just asked me to verify the mailing address for the GC, then my Mom was fingerprinted and photographed. That's it. We did not go to a separate room. It was a piece of cake smile.png

btw-Our POE was Detroit, one of the most strict port of entry.
