The fingerprint cards are only necessary if you are already overseas. We are still stateside but i dont believe we will have to do the bio again because we did them in june and ive read they are good for 15 months or something like that. Even if we do get the notice Fort Jackson has a USCIS biometrics place that accepts military walkins. Im really excited about the passport thing. I hope the passport place in Washington would be able to do such a quick turn around. Plus the Washington Field office does same day oath for 319(b).

Ok finally got some real news about my returned packet. The mail room said they mailed it out on 27 November. The officer is trying to see if they put a tracking number on it and is going to call me back. If i knew they didnt mail the packet out the same day when they get sent back then someone could have just walked to the mail room the first time i called on monday (25 Nov) and just picked it up.....so my packet sat in the rejected pile for almost a week....by mistake......Using the USPS estimator a 1lb letter size package takes 7 days to ship from nebraska to my zip code. Taking Thanksgiving into account that would be today or tomorrow....... Please if your religious everyone pray i get it today.... so i can mail it back and it get there on monday.

I received my rejected N400 this morning through UPS. It did have tracking number....so USCIS just needs to get their stuff straight. With my package was a letter stating :

We are returning your N400 application and money orders for the following discrepancy. A review of your application indicates that you are filing for naturalization udner seciont 319 (b) of the Act. To be eligible for naturaliztion under this section, the alien spouse of a United States citizen must establish that s/he will depart the United States to join the citizen spouse within 45 days from the date of naturaliztion. You may return your application, supporting documents and fling fee to this office wit hthe required documentation for preocessing.

I mailed my military orders showing our departure together...with the date of arrival in Korea. Obviously it was not reviewed in enough depth to see that. So this time i have highlighted and marked the page showing the information. I called to make sure no ohter evidence was needed that the lady that will be receiving my packet said military orders will be fine. So i will mail it again today. I wrote ATTN TO: all over the packet with the Officers name that requested it be sent straight to her.

You won't receive anything by today probably. It took them 5 days to send me my notification after they received it. They received my package September 28th, they sent me an email and a text on the 5th of October. However when I received my NOA it was dated September 30th lol. So don't get your hopes up as I did lol.

Ok so i called them again today to make sure it got passed the individuals that mistakenly rejected it before. And it has. I was told the person that is handeling it is usually really quick about getting it processed and taken care of. So he said dispite the bad luck i had earlier, i lucked out getting this guy. What i do not understand is that the person who said address to her is not handling it so im not sure if it went through her first and she pushed it to the next level or what but as long as its in good hands now. The person i spoke with said the packet made it passed the clericals that reject and send packets back and i should be recieving a NOA by monday.

Alright so we got some good news today. No receipt number...but i think something almost as good. I called again (im probably getting annoying because i call so much but after what happen, can you blame me? lol) I spoke with one of the individuals that is familiar with me (since ive talked to her so many times) when she looked up my application she said all they are waiting on is to recieve my A file (from my Adjustment of status and I751 stuff i guess), and my background check. She said i have good finger prints in the system (YAY! so i dont have to do that) and soon as the A file and Background check comes back they will send it for review. happy.png And i should receive my receipt number next week happy.png

Ok so a few updates. My N400 was sent to Washington Field office as i requested. Despite what i was told by nebraska, washington did order my fingerprints. I got the email/text on 24 December. SO i dont know what date the appointment is. The good news is that two days later on the 26th i got another email/text saying i was placed in line for interview scheduling. I called today and they told me i would receive an interview date within 7 days. I am not sure if its normal to be scheduled a date before i do my biometrics, but what im thinking is they would rather me take another set of fingerprints instead of send money back. And the background check was completed already using the other set of fingerprints that were still good?? Any way its been an exciting Christmas especially know im already in line for interview ^_^

Good luck buddy. You don't have to wait as your file should be expedited so yes that will save you a whole lot of time. Good luck.

GOT AN INTERVIEW DATE!!!! ^_^ Ok so today i called them like usual..lol..and they told me the same thing, im in line and since its washington they are usually booked and it may take some time. Around 4:30pm i checked my email and got an email from Washington saying that i can choose my interview dates from the days listed. I was offered January 28th, February 3,4,10,11,18,19,24,25. It also said all correspondence would be sent by email and i would not receive a notice in the mail.

Attached was a document describing the interview process and what i needed to bring to the interview which is:

My I551 Alien Resident Card

Valic and expired passports

Birth Certificate

Proof of spouses US Citizenship

Marriage Certificate

Legal documents related to any name changes

Divorce or death certificates from prior marriages (not applicable)

If ive been arrest i need court dispostions (not applicable)

Proof of support of children if i have childdren not living with me (my husband does so ill bring his court order)

Current documentary evidence of joint marital relationshiop.

Copy of Itinerary to reflect a departure from US within 45 days of naturalization (got that today lol)

Evidence that i am authorized to accompany my spouse over seas

Copy of spouse government orders

Evidence that my spouse continues to be employed by Government

So normally i would have chosen the 28th BUT we are moving out of our apartment and my husband has outprocessing appointments on the 28th. So we are choosing the 3rd. We will leave for Washington on the 2nd and stay a few days to try to get a same day/next day passport since we are leaving so soon.

Ok so i passed my interview. Heres hiw it went.
We arrrived right at 9 am. We got through security and checked in at 9:10. At the counter they took my fingerprints from both imdex fingers and took my photo for verification. The officer came out and called me back at 9:15. The interview lasted about an hour because he couldnt get his computer to work to check me in for the interview. He said that i was already scheduled for the oath ceremony so it wouldnt allow me to be checked in for interview. So i was approved before i even arrived. But what took so long was he kept restarting the computer thinking it was an error in his computer. The question i had to read was what state has the most people. And i had to write California is the state with the most people. I was only asked 6 civics questions which were if the president can no longer serve who becomes president, how old you must be to vote, what was the major issue during the cold war, i cant remember the rest. Everything was fine till an isse came up with my name being different in my passport thsn my green card. But all he said was my legal name was what was in my passport. Didnt want that to happen but at least ill be a citizen and i can get it fixed at a later date. After it was all over i was handed the paper saying i passed everything and the time to go back for the oath which is 1:30 pm. Were staying at the mason inn in fairfax. Its 15 min away from the field office. No compaints. About hotel. Were heading back at 12:45. Ill post about the ceremony afterwards. Immediatly after we leave the oath ceremony we will be heading to the passport office in hopes of getting a same day passport happy.png ill post more later

Just got back to the hotel from the Oath Ceremony. Only three people was there. We got started a little late because the third person showed up late. When i checked in, they took my green card and handed me a packet that contained a letter from the president welcoming me as a citizen, a passport application form, a book about the US, a copy of the constitution, a copy of the oath of allegiance, and a folder to hold my certificate upon receiving it. The three of us went bck to the Oath room and the officer gave us a quick over view of what we need to do after the oath. Which was make sure we update Social Security of our Naturalization and talked about passports. As soon as we left, we headed toward the passport center. But we arrived to late they only except walkins till 2:30 pm. THey told us to come back tomorrow since we have military orders they can except us as a walk in. So it feels great to be through with USCIS.happy.png Good luck to the rest of you on your journey.

Ok so we did a walk-in at the Passport Service Center in Washington Dc on the 4th and was able to get it processed that morning. They gave us a receipt that said pick up passport at 2pm. So we went to get something to eat and came back. It wasnt until about 2:30 to 2:45 that they started calling names. Once my name was called i confirmed all the information was correct, and then we left. happy.png

The reason we were able to get it same day was 1- we had a ticket showing our departure within 4 weeks to Korea. 2- we were from out of state But they never looked at our ticket or anything they just took our word for it i guess.
