Hi everyone,

I'm new to this VJ community! It'll be nice to share my story and get some insight from you all! I've posted my US Visa timeline above. At present, my case has been showing READY on CEAC for 3 weeks. It's been 6 weeks since we've submitted the additional paperwork required. Has anyone had a similar situation and does anyone know what READY means or it's length?

I'm nearly at the end of this visa process - it's so much more important now as my brother's wedding reception is Dec 1 in Chicago and I hope to make it with my son and re-unite with my husband there too! I don't know where I stand with this READY status. I've emailed them and they will take 10-15 business days to reply so awaiting their response still.

Has anyone had a similar situation like mine?

Please share.

Next to "READY" is visa "ISSUED". But, I would call the Embassy and ask for more information about the status of your case.

I had called the Consulate in Montreal and as of Jan 1, 2013 they do not answer any telephone inquiries regarding IVs - they gave me an email to write to which I did. I received an automated acknowledgement saying they do not answer inquiries over email and to write to the Public Inquiry Form (Ottawa) - which I then again did. I have yet to receive a response. Hoping for it by Nov 13. Time's cutting close - they have had mine & my son's passport as well since our interview in beginning of September.

My status changed to ISSUED today morning!!! How soon before I get my passport? Any update?

Maybe a week? But it still depends on your EMBASSY and the courier. I would ask on the Regional forum where you live.
