I like* my doctor and healthcare plan and I can keep it. That's true not only for me but for the overwhelming majority of Americans.

* like might be the wrong word when talking about health insurance plans in this country (yes, they all suck just as the entire health care system in this country sucks) but I use it here for the sake of the argument

I got into a debate on fb with a few friends the other day about the ACA. I had one of them tell me that I was one of the lucky ones that gets to keep their insurance and won't see any rate hikes. I replied, no I'm not lucky, I'm the norm. I had another one try to tell me Obamacare is a death sentence and healthcare is not a right in this country, needless to say he's a Tea Party member. The way some people are reacting to this is crazy.

And again, its the Big Dog who misses the point.

oh, I understand, you must have Medicaid, just like the majority of Americans who overwhelmingly benefit from Obamacare.

No, Sherlock. You're wrong on this - as is the case all too frequently. I have health insurance for me and my family through my employer as has been the case for the nearly two decades that I have been living in this country. Since my employer has offered comprehensive health insurance plans all along, the ACA has zero impact on my health insurance plan. I get to keep that plan and as long as the insurance company doesn't make changes to the PPO network, I'll get to continue to see my doctor as well.

And if you thought that I am alone in being that lucky, well, you'd be wrong on that one too. My experience is true for the vast majority of Americans because more than half get their coverage through their employers in much the same way I do. Add in those that are covered through Medicare of Medicaid and you have the vast majority of Americans getting to keep their plan and doctor. That's a simple fact.

I'm sure the ones who say "The Kenyan" only do so because the word they really want to use is completely unacceptable.

Yup, that's why I use that label.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I love when someone says something racist/ignorant/offensive/incorrect on the internet. They (or someone wanting to defend them) will always jump in and claim it was a joke/social experiment/only said to get a reaction.

It can't be something as simple as the guy who said the racist thing is a racist. Nope.

Right! If you're going to use racist or inflammatory remarks, at least own them.

Doing otherwise would indicate integrity and personal responsibility.... They do embrace their ignorance and short sightedness, but never actually own them.
