You are incorrect.

Mexican is not a race, and neither is German, French, Australian, Canadian, etc, as you suggest. These are all nationalities.

In the context of ethnicity, races are based on other markers.

Nay, Sir, not I. Or if I, then not just I. Ye need to correct the dictionary and wiki references. And about nine hundred million other people who think black, African, Asian, Kenyan... etc. are races, and anyone speaking ill against a person of those descents is a racist. Kinda twisted how we got here, if'n you ask me.

I am accused of being Caucasian, which I am not. But I don't call those who try to label me so racist. Just ignorant or uninformed or too lazy to look it up.

Racist, ignorant, uninformed and too lazy too look it up... these are all synonyms in this context... Potato, potahto...

The point being that Obama being a black man is part of the reason that the issue is brought up. He's also been called a closet Muslim for the same reason.

The intent is to make out that Obama isn't a bond fide American and to emphasise 'otherness'.

Seriously? Only a person living under a rock would think so.

His Kenyan heritage references is due to the doubt that he is truly American and deserving to serve as president.

His Muslim references is due to his trying to force Americans to like and coddle those people.

Neither has anything to do with him being black. Just as talking about Clinton's Sexcapades has no racist background. It's a reference to performance or policies.

He is not Kenyan. It's racist if you refer to his country of Heritage. It's racist to point out his Kenyan heritage. Liberals think it's shame to be from Kenya.

Please do not point out his Kenyan Heritage Racist

All Hail the African-American...Ok that's cool right

Once again that is not the point.

The point is that some Americans don't like (and never liked) having a black President and and this manifests itself in constant references to his being Kenyan. It's a deliberate tactic to imply that he isn't a 'legitimate' president and or a 'real' American.

This (at least to my knowledge) isn't the experience that past Presidents have had, although there's unpleasantly personal accusations thrown about no matter who is in office. Clinton was lambasted as a womaniser (and draft dodger), GWB was uneducated (and a daddy's boy).

Why the focus on making Obama out to be something other than a legal USC?

1 - Not really. As I pointed out, this is another expression of ignorance. According to the XIV Amendment of the US Constitution, he is truly American and therefore can serve as president.

2 - According to the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution, those people - whoever they are - enjoy freedom of/from religion.

As you can see, in this context, racist, ignorant, uninformed and too lazy too look it up are all synonyms.

It's got nothing to do with performance or policy.

I know people doubt his citizenship - the question is why they do, and if that is different to the experience that past Presidents have received.

And no, the muslim angle had nothing to do with policy whatsoever - but with schools that Obama allegedly attended as a child. It was part of making a guy running for office (as he was at the time) appear foreign and unamerican.

Why is there such doubt? Which President has ever faced this amount of doubt before, even AFTER proof was provided that the claims were false?

Personal comments such as "Kenyan" have nothing to do with his performance. You must know that.

His Muslim references is due to his trying to force Americans to like and coddle those people.

You've got to be kidding.

But it's a birthplace issue, NOT a race issue. His father was Kenyan, right? So folks who try to deny his US citizenship claim he is Kenyan based on that.

They claim he is Kenyan based on what his father is? Why don't they claim he is American based on what his mother is? Why do you think there are people who call him Kenyan rather than American?

Part of me thinks they're fooling themselves.

Yep, It can't be a lie if you believe it's true. rolleyes.gif

I'd have much more respect for a person if they would simply own their thoughts and feelings rather than try to hide it because it may not be popular.
