i'm not the one passing judgement, you & company are. I corrected you with what I believe to be the correct wording for your labeling endeavor, and have since reported how I came to my conclusion. all I know about blue is his wife is Asian & I don't recall him ever making a clear racist remark. you & company seem to want to scream racism anytime someone opposes the president or makes a negative comment about him. your obsession with race is ridiculous. its also beginning to take the sting out of the word racist, when you use it.

I don't view some1 using the term - Kenyan in reference to O as anything more than a birther slur.

Seems no1 has any trouble pointing out Cruz's Canadian connections...so why the racism uproar over Kenyan is beyond me.

OMG! Canadians really suck so let's always refer to Cruz as the Canuck. That'll dash all his political hopes!! Coz every1 hates Canucks!! They're subhuman. rolleyes.gif

(since the conversation is persnickety word play)

Racial stereotype = yes. Racist remark = depends on the context.

& I have a question... is going back to Africa a bad thing that only a racist would wish on another...?

I am very interested in going to Africa to experience a safari someday.....

It is racist if you don't know whether the other person has come from Africa to begin with. In essence, such a comment would be another expression of ignorance, which is the foundation upon racism stands.

If you want to answer your own question, ask yourself how you would feel if someone suggested that you - or your spouse - go back to Asia, in the sense you should leave the US for good.

In the spirit of fairness, in birther rationale - an oxymoron, I know - Cruz is Cuban, not Canadian.

In the spirit of fairness and apples to apples, Cruz is Cuban, not Canadian.

Insulting = yes. Racial stereotype = yes. Racist remark = like I already posted - depends on context.

I'm googling & searching = how many times have Black American leadership encoured - Get back to Africa = roots..heritage...& said it with pride.

Racism = (please allow me to summarize) Degrade based on race. Telling some1 to go back to Africa exposes racial stereotype but does not degrade Africans. (& ...aren't Africans an ethnicity anyway?)

I only disagree that it is insulting. I think it is insulting to the speaker, for it shows a deep level of ignorance. It is really not insulting to those to whom the insult is intended.

Hence I asked what do you consider to be a racist remark?

Why isn't referring to Obama as "the Kenyan" a racist remark?

I may be wrong. so, i'm waiting on my copy of teddy's official guidelines to answer.

Kenya is a country not a race. do you consider 'the Brit' a racist remark?

There's plenty of them. I don't have the time or the want to find them for you. Nor am I going to bicker back and forth with you as to what qualifies as a racist remark.

no. will be fine next time.

I hate to ask you to think. but, since you don't want to bicker about what qualifies. why do keep coming back to do so? hell man. this was Friday's conversation.

If someone told a black US citizen to "go back to Africa" would that be a racist remark?

if they weren't originally from Africa, I'd say the person saying it was stupid and it would be a racist remark...btw: who said this? Edited by SMOKE

Some facts about Obama:

He is black.

He is a United States Citizen.

He is not Kenyan.

Question: Why call him 'The Kenyan'?

A fact about me:

I am British.

Question: How would calling me 'the Brit' be the same as the above?

So it's OK to tell a black American to go back to Africa if they came from there originally? So how many situations can you think of where that would not be (at best) inappropriate?

I don't post on the weekends, I put my electronics away and spend time with my wife, friends and family. I only use a computer on the weekend if I have to. I came on the board this morning and read the post by DavenRoxy, I thought it explained very well what I was attempting to explain on Friday, so I wanted to acknowledge that. I wasn't looking to re-open the session that took place on Friday. Is there some type of a time limit on replying to posts that I'm not aware of?

you/british... nobody really cares. I was seeing if your home country designated race also. apparently not.

I didn't say or imply that. oh multiple.

you have noticed that site moderation doesn't seem to view it as racist or needing deletion either, haven't you?

that is if anyone had reported it in the past. /sarcasm

idea9dv.gif report it yourself. lets get an official response.

You are wasting your time being logic and rational. Your argumentation will not be met in kind.

That's the really confusing thing.

He's NOT Kenyan.

One person here doesn't seem to be able to grasp that. I wonder why not?

Did any other President have to go through this? People not believing he was born where it's been proven he was born? No? Why not?
