Hello,

I'm expecting to be in the US by January next year (2014). We got married in Jan 2013. When its tax season, will my wife have to fill out her taxes as single or married? We are confused because I will not physically be in the US till 2014.

What if it was filed as single in the usa even if it was married.. Can that be changed?

Is it needed that i should be with my husband in the usa before he can file a tax return as married or not necessary.

I had some concern.. My husband had filed his income tax for 2012 as single even we are married on november of 2012. Would this affect our visa application . He said he was confused especially i am not there yet.this income tax of 2013he will fike as married. Would that be okay?

He will need to amend his previous tax return before the AOS.
