Hello to all,

My fiance' and I have recently applied for Fiance Visa, she is a rank-and-file CCP member, is there anyone here who has a fiance with ties to the CCP that have been through the process or currently in the process? If so, please give insight as to what to expect during this process. Thanks in advance!

Highly unlikely you will need a waiver. At her interview, have a detailed resume ready and a statement declaring that membership is for employment purposes or why she joined.

The consulate will have to do a additional background check using the resume and the statement. The unfortunate part is this additional background check can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months or potentially longer. Hard to say exactly how long as it can vary. My wife's took 90 days, the quickest I have seen is about 60 days but be mentally prepared for much longer.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your helpful insight and experiences. We have mentally prepared ourselves for a longer approval date, due to additional background check. Having said that, at the same time, we are hoping for a shorter background check time frame. I will keep everyone posted with future developments.

Good news!

Received NOA2 Approval letter today!

10/23/2013: Sent I-129F to Dallas Lockbox
10/25/2013: NOA1 Issued
11/21/2013: NOA2 Issued

I feel better now after receiving approval. I front loaded the K1 Visa Application with CCP disclosure letter from fiance and a letter disclosing my knowledge of her being a member of the CCP. Also, I included my fiance's criminal background letter as well as reference letter from her employer.

My approval letter states,

The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about the visa issuance, or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes.

Fiance had interview today, she was given blue card with administrative processing written on it. Also, her passport was given back to her. What does this mean? I understand the AP requirement but why was passport returned. Is this normal to return the passport?

Finally, the officer only took form I-134 and supporting documents (tax transcripts, letter from my employer, and recent tax return) and her resume. Should I consider this a good thing?

Thanks in advance for your response..

I am no expert, but I would guess that the AP inquiry will take a while and in the mean time she might need her visa to travel back to where she came from? Just a hunch.

You are likely looking at a couple of months minimum, while the consulate does their investigative thing.

She lives in Chengdu.

Also, about 45 minutes after her interview, the consulated telephone(cell) her to confirm she read and understood the abuse pamphlet, which she has read and understands. Suprisingly, later that night the CEAC website changed status from AP to Ready. Hope this means things are moving..

Thanks!

My apologies Darnell, but I scrolled up, I didn't see any specific information. I can only say that we practically sent everything(inclucing police reports, marriage/divorce documents, letters from employer, birth certificates, ID cards, college degrees, letters acknowledging CCP for both petitioner and beneficiary, version of her resume, and other documents required for the process except the I-134 with supporting documents.

Hi, I'm following your timeline with interest. I just filed my i-129f recently. When exactly did you make a CCP disclosure? Did you submit it when you filed the i-129f? I didn't know my fiance was a CCP member until after I filed the i-129f. Is yours a current member or did her membership lapse at some point? Mine didn't pay her dues for several years, so my understanding is that her party status automatically lapsed, but it was still within the last 5 years.
