You've asked questions of law, yes you need a lawyer. Actually, you needed to have a consultation with a US immigration lawyer some time ago.

Many VJers say that one doesn't need to see a lawyer if they don't have issues. I say that one needs to see a lawyer to find out whether or not they have issues, because many people don't seem to know what things can be an issue.

Dave sorry to see this, Alan and I and many others know the feeling well. I have pm'd, just do what you have to do to get that waiver filed and if you ever need a chat, pop into the waiver thread sometime, or pm me, we are "patiently waiting" and always checking the embassy waiver site for updates, something one gets addicted to As people have already pointed out, London has a good record for approvals for waivers, so look at it this way, the sooner you get that waiver filed the sooner you will be on the list, good luck
