Well, we are almost there...

I received packet 3 from Sydney on 30 October... I spent the best part of 4 hours on 31 October doing all the paper forms and online stuff, got my picture taken, booked my medical which I had yesterday. That was an interesting experience - I felt like an alien at first with all the poking and probing then a monkey with all the movement stuff haha. I had to have one more vaccination since even though I tested immunity for Mumps and Rubella I tested not immune to Measles. I received my medical back today, all good to go.

I checked Australia Post website today, my registered post with packet 3 made it to Sydney today, delivered and signed for.

So I guess now I can just wait for packet 4.....

It literally feels like such a relief. It's been so time consuming making sure I have everything and for the most part it's been smooth but there have been little things I left out, forgot or had to chase up. I am sure as many of you know when you're in a different time zone and different days it's not easy to get the simplest answer on the spot. I have done so much running around and thankfully work have been so good to let me lead this as my main priority.

I am not even nervous about the interview. Maybe that's because it hasn't been scheduled yet... but I just feel everything is there and I am ready to answer any question thrown my way. My soon-to-be Mother-in-law messaged me today to tell me someone in her company is from Brisbane also and did the K-1 visa about 2 years ago, so she was relaying stories and messages on how she found the interview process.

My work have even started to plan a farewell party, they say it's literally that close to all happening.

I guess I just wanted to share this update and say (like many others) that this site has been my saviour. If it wasn't for the example forms, templates and advice of others we would be still back at the intial filing stage scratching our heads, or in debt to a lawyer.

Now we bicker about who will wear the dress crying.gif

cjbaker16 - I am really happy for you both. I have enjoyed reading the bits that you have shared about your journey, thank you. A big adventure awaits us all, and all in the name of love too :)

Way to go re your Packet 4 littlej!

Seems that things are moving along for people so much faster which is wonderful. Being apart is hard enough as it is and the wait, excruciating. Still, I know that for all that we go through, every bit will be worth it because it always takes time for something good.

Roll on the 29th for me, Wisconsin here I come for my first white Christmas with my new Hubby....I am Captain Excited!

Take care

Hi everyone!

This is my first post, so this probably isn't the right place, but I was hoping for your help littlej and cjbaker16.

I have my Packet 3, which asks for:

Forms required:

Form DS-160 Confirmation page only

Form I-134 Affidavit of Support

Form DSL-1076 Applicants Statement of Readiness to be Interviewed

However, the link to the DSL-1076 states:

1. Complete and return immediately to this office the enclosed form DS-230I, Immigrant Visa Application Part I, Biographic Data. We cannot process your case until this form is received.

2. Fill out two copies and sign forms DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Please refer to the attachment regarding the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). If your children will apply with you, two copies of forms DS-156 for each child must be completed in full, including photograph.

Form DS-156(K), Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application: All questions must be answered. Please do not sign this form. It is to be signed in front of the consular officer on the day of your interview.

I was under the impression that the DS-160 was to replace the DS-230, DS-156 and DS-156K. Do I need to send all of the forms (including DS-230/156/156K), or just the three listed in the instructions (DS-160, I-134 and DSL-1076)?

Also, (and I feel stupid asking this), do you send in your proof of relationship (photos etc) and passport with your documents? Or just bring them to the interview?

What did you do?

hey there, no stupid questions here we are all in the same boat! I was also confused by the difference in instructions, but as i had already filled out the 230/156/156k forms i sent them along with the pack and put a post it note explaining that i filled out all of the forms as per instructions however am aware that those forms have now been replaced by the DS-160 so please discard them if not needed....i'm pretty sure you only need the DS-160 but since the form had only been introduced a few days when i was filling it out i just wanted to cover all bases!

I did send proof of relationship with my packet 3- photos, skype log, recent boarding passes etc- they were all given back to me when i went for interview. DON'T SEND YOUR PASSPORT (take it to the interview), but you do need to send the original birth certificate and police certificate....read the instructions carefully, the checklist really helps, i also put together a cover letter similar to the one we did for 129f just so i could get my head around everything i was sending!

Feel free to msg me if you need anymore help
