Sending off package tomorrow... Double check my work?

Hey everyone... We've finally completed all the forms (we hope) to complete our package and send it in. This is my cover letter that I'm sending which contains a list of ALL the documents we're submitting. If someone would be so kind as to tell us whether we're sending everything we need to or if we're missing anything, that would be awesome. Thanks!

To whom it may concern,

My name is Coppertop and I am filing an I-130 petition for alien relative on behalf of my wife, Mrs. Coppertop. In addition to filing an I-130, I am concurrently filing an I-485 application to register permanent residence since we will both be living and working in the United States. 4. Check in the amount of $1405 for application form fees (I-130/I-485)

I dont think they want the I-485.....are you suppose to submit that too with the payment for it? <__<; We're only sending the I-130 with the check of 420 for the filling fee.....


Oh wait, the I-485 is for adjustment of status...so he/she is already on a visitors visa I take it?

I believe the check for i-130 is 420, and the i-485 is 1070. So 1490 all together.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

That is correct you make two checks 1) for $420 for the I-130 and 2) one for $1070 for the I-485. Good luck

I didn't notice any financial info regarding the bonafide marriage.

I think they really like something showing joint ownership, joint lease, joint name on bills, joint name on checking account, etc. Should be easy and quick for you to at least set up a joint checking account.

Also, kind of hard to provide 2013 Tax Return; isn't it?

Oops. Thanks for bringing that typo to my attention.

Unfortunately we don't have any joint financial anything -- I guess we could set something up now that we're married. I'll have something prepared for the interview.

You don't have to send 2 checks. I just sent a single check for $1490 and it was accepted/cashed without problem.

I agree that the evidence of a bonafide marriage is lacking. You should at least have a joint bank account, credit cards, and health insurance as these are the easiest things to get.

I just sent off the package. If there is an RFE, which based on comments so far there probably will be, I'll have a bank account & health insurance (since I plan on adding her to my work health insurance). It may delay it, but I guess that's my fault.

To prove the bonafide marriage you can also include pictures of the wedding, pictures of you traveling together, you with her family and vise versa, apartment/house lease (both on it), bills with joint name, travel itinerary together, ect.... Anything that may prove you guys have been together will help.
