How long to get through NAIA security

My fiancee got her visa approved so I'm going to be flying to the Philippines this month to visit with my fiancee's family for a few days and then fly home with her. Problem is we are having to fly out of Manila because flying out of Clark, closest airport to her, is going to be way to expensive. I have never been to manila so I'm looking for how much time do we need to arrive before the flight to get though security and customs?

Thanks.

You have to be at the airport check-in at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time for international flights.

I would say a solid 4 hours before. If you find a crowd at the entrance doors to the terminal, you need to walk around them as they are overseas workers that enter a different door but they tend to block the entrance to the terminal.

Thanks for the answers. I was thinking 3-4 hours but wanted to be certain. Much appreciated.

Just left Manila a week ago and I was there 3 hours early for my flight and was fine but you will use at least 2.5 hours getting through security, airlines, exit fees, security, immigration and then the walk to the gate. Make sure you have 550 pesos on you in correct change as it makes the going that much easier when paying your exit fees.

Good luck.

I'm going to err on the side of caution and make it four and a half hours since we have to stop by and get her CFO stamp since I forgot to mention that above. When I went through Clark in Feb it was only 450 pesos but having the right change is always a good thing there.

If you are a resident of the Philippines and are not exempt, there is also a travel tax, 1620php, that is not prepaid if you fly PAL. Not sure about other airlines.

Then the terminal fee of 550php.

When I went through Clark I had to get the card from an unmanned counter before getting through customs so I'll be sure to check the airline counter when we check in.

Yep, got the travel tax and terminal fees covered.

Are you planning to get the CFO sticker at NAIA? If so they recommend to call them ahead of time to arrange this and make sure someone will be in the office.

The terminal fee may be 450 for Clark but it's 550 for NAIA.

Yes, my fiancee said they needed her to call two days in advance of the flight to get the sticker at NAIA.

Thanks.

Would love to hear back from you as to how the transaction with CFO at NAIA went. Did you reach someone two days before? Did they accommodate you without any hassles both on the phone and in person? How long did it take to check in with CFO NAIA to the time you departed CFO NAIA?

Thanks
