October filer chiming in here. Just got approved yesterday after 9 months. Delayed because of security checks. I would suggest all of you who is waiting to contact congressman and then just wait patiently. If your case is waiting because of security checks, there is no one that can move it till checks are cleared.

When the security checks do get clear they approve it immediately though. The day before our approval, we had a reply from service request that it was pending due to security checks. It took them only a day to approve once the checks cleared.

Congrats! :) Maybe it's our turn next ;)

Do they usually send out RFEs before or after the security checks? Is it possible that we still might get an RFE AFTER our security checks get cleared?

6/5/2013 got married

11/14/2013 mailed I-130

11/19/2013 I-130 NOA1 (NSC)

12/20/2013 mailed I-129f (just in case)

12/27/2013 I-129f NOA1 (NSC)

1/2/2014 ARN changed on both I-130 and I-129f

1/7/2014 I-129f updated/touched?

11/10/2014 NOA2 FINALLY!!! (after 356 days & 4 service requests)

Thanks. As far as I know from the cases I have seen here on VJ, It depends on what they need. They can't do security checks without passport photos and G235A. So if you get RFE for those then security checks would be done after RFE. There was an August filer who got approved few days ago. He got RFE for relationship evidence after he waited 9 months and after their security checks were done. In short, depending on what is lacking from your file RFEs get generated either before or after security check.

Good luck. As long as you sent some photos or other proof, you shouldnt worry much. If they need something, it wont delay your case at all, they will just generate RFE right away. In my opinion it's better to get RFE at this stage and have your petition solid before it goes to consulate rather than having a file with no proofs and getting hard time at interview.

Oh god, now I'm a little scared...yeah i'm pretty sure we sent all the stuff they need but prolly not enough relationship evidence, just because we didn't really have anything to send them.We just sent some pictures and 2 affidavits from friends.

I really need to stop obsessing about this^^

That's more than enough evidence. I have seen cases with only marriage certificates sent with forms getting approved. Don't think too much abt it, you will be fine.

there's not much you can do now, other than wait.

I'm thinking I was shy on evidence too. no phone logs, not much either as for co-mingling of assets, etc. but a 10 year history of air travel back and forth plus many trips together. hoping the latter suffices. if probably will. but no use worrying as it's not going to help with an approval.

if we get rfe'd we do, then we will submit more.

Finally got a response!

We have received your inquiry stating that you believe your case is beyond our projected processing times. USCIS makes every effort to process cases within the projected timeframes and in the order in which they were received; however, your case has not cleared all required security checks at this time. We cannot provide a specific date on which a final decision will be made on your case. We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

This just means they are doing the standard security checks right? it doesn't mean there's something else wrong, does it?

Sorry for the late reply…I have been spending most of my time on NVC pages (if and when I am online)…and they are a bear to sort out. LOL.

I am going through the Electronic processing and my lawyer submitted it on july 7. Now just waiting…..30 business days which i believe gets over on aug 25. Though some people seem to waiting long er now…we shall see…

I am hoping for september for case complete..so oct/nov as my interview date….and hopefully xmas will be with my partner in NYC….

Hope everything is going well with you too...

Time shall tell..

Yes, I think that's the case. The Aos and IV are available to pay at the same time. I assume once they are paid then the Ds 260 is available to fill in. Once that's done and they have both packages, it's just a case of waiting for them to be scanned and then wait for CC. If no checklist, it seems to be about five weeks from scan to CC right now, think they are on May 27th.

Lol. I really need to learn how to quote and reply on this thing. I'm not even hoping for Sept now, October seems realistic. I can't see CC until August at the earliest, without a checklist. Damn, this process sucks. Surely there has to be a better way?

Any news for you? I'm still waiting for the response to my service request, it's been nearly 2 weeks, I'm getting more and more frustrated and anxious. Right now I would even be happy about an RFE, just because that way I'd know that someone is actually working on our case and they haven't lost it. But without a RFE I just don't know what's taking so long...

Still nothing

I just put another service request in on July 31st.....let's see what the response will be. Last SR the response was pending adjudication. This is becoming very nerve wrecking. I'm here with my husband and I hate that I have to leave him and go bk to the States without a clue when I'll have him with me.
