Just called they PD for Nebraska is nov 25th , not sure what to believe and what not, one thing for sure for November month they are not going in an order

Hi everyone and congratulations to those who have recently been approved! I moved to Seattle from Japan in the middle of April, put in a change of address when I found a flat on May 1st, then randomly checked the gov website on May 9th and found out we received approval on the 8th!! I was in shock and had to get it confirmed by a fellow visa journeyer that it was real. I didn't get an email or anything although I signed up for notifications back in November when we filed. We filed November 5th from Japan, and received confirmation on the 12th that it was accepted.

My husband is French and is residing in Japan until August. Now for the NVC process.

How long did you usually receive mailed paperwork after it has been sent to NVC? My husband can't get a police report from Japan until he has some kind of paperwork asking for its necessity (Japan is annoying that that most of the time).

So, that's my story. I can't wait to hear more from you all and your approvals! They are finally happening!

Legal Marriage: 10/10/13

Ceremony in Japan: 10/13/13

mailed I-130 from Japan: 11/05/13

Received NOA1 e-mail: 11/15/13

Received NOA1 hard copy: 11/21/2013

**case sent to Nebraska Service Center**

Received NOA2 from website: 05/08/14

Received NOA2 hard copy to foreign address 5/12/14

**177 days from NOA1 to NOA2**

NVC received case 5/21/14

Called to get case number and they couldn't assign it yet: 6/12/2014

Called and talked to supervisor to get assigned case# and IIN (after calling 2x and having trouble with one particular representative saying my case number could not be given yet: 6/24/14

Email from NVC and completed AOS fee payment: 6/27/14

DS-261 completed: 6/27/2014

Mailed AOS package 6/30/14

E-mailed change of embassy request (this is a major setback, they said this was the reason we couldn't pay IV bill): 7/20/2014

Change of embassy request accepted: 10/7/2014 *49 days to get approved embassy change*

**Was told 2x to call back in two weeks to see if IV is available to pay**

AOS Checklist via email, 2 mistakes to fix: 10/7/2014

AOS Corrections mailed: 10/10/2014

IV bill became available and paid: 10/24/2014

IV bill showed as paid in NVC system: 10/27/2014

IV package mailed by husband in France: 10/30/2014

We put in a change of address on the 6th of May and got an email a few minutes later saying that the address change was performed. No approval as of today though.

yes i did put SR, she said it will take 15 to 30 days to get a response

Hey Ontamichigan!! I'm headed to southwest Michigan myself. Our file date is Nov 18th, so we'll be at the 6 month mark end of this week. I'm hoping against hope that we'll see an approval in the next few days. But who knows?? There is seemingly no rhyme or reason to how they adjudicate. An earlier poster on this thread indicated they had filed in Feb 2014 and were approved this month. I get so very frustrated reading posts like that, though I'm happy for the poster.

This whole system is ridiculous.

I'm at the very last threads of my patience, and the worst part is I'll still have 5 or 6 months to go once the I130 is approved! Grrrrr.....

Anyway, good luck to you and lets keep our fingers crossed.

Hello Sylea!

That is pretty cool to know somebody from Ontario that is immigrating to michigan! Not only michigan but southwest michigan! When you go see your other half do you cross Sarnia or Windsor? I cross at Sarnia and take 69 to 94 over to kalamazoo! I have to admit when I first met my wife it was a little intimidating driving to the states from Canada....as I wasn't a big traveler, but love changed me and we find ourselves driving to see each most wknds! I have tacked on over 75k km on my Subaru in the last year! Love I tell ya it's a beautiful thing! I will be heading down there this wknd after work and I am excited! I got a bunch of great audio books I listen to which really passes the time!

Holland isn't too far from kalamazoo! We hired lawyers out of Grand Rapids and they are on top of things which is good! My wife and I don't have the time to do the work or keep on top of it and she works in the medical industry and is working all the time. I have familiarized myself with the process..by reading as much as I can when I can on visajourney....I think all of us November filers are gonna hear something soon!

I have to admit I am kinda nervous moving to kalamazoo. I love the city and I hope I am able to leave my current job and find something there once I am good to go. It seems like a lively city and has everything, I'll keep my fingers crossed!
