I-130 November Filers

Exactly. I was fine the first 4.5 months. I knew what to expect and I just researched next steps and stayed calm. But now that the day is closer I'm watching things more and it's become frustrating. The inconsistency of the way they process files can drive you crazy. Three weeks ago it looked like I would have my NOA2 about this time, but now it looks to be another month away as Texas SC in particular just went catatonic.

If I had a few more years under my belt I would have done the same and left to be with my wife. In fact I've discussed early retirement with her during the last few weeks. But, patience is a virtue and I know in my heart we are better of if we can get here instead. This last few weeks waiting has been very hard.

I think the most disgusting thing is the lie that we are the priority. That the process is designed to keep, or get families together ASAP. If the k1 is designed to allow couples to marry in the US, then the i-130 should move faster. The only thing that stops me getting too upset or angry is that, being in a same sex relationship, I know people who have waited years, some decades, for this. But for Doma, I'd be with my wife now. The fact that a process doesn't give a toss about keeping people, especially with children (which I don't have thankfully) apart for so long is condoned by the authorities, disgusts me. I can't wrap my head around it. At least k1s can start a life together sooner. But us beneficiarys who want to work and contribute asap are punished. Maybe what I've said is harsh but I do think our uscis purgatory should not be this long and this nebulous.

I agree. If feels like we are the second class group rather than any kind of priority. This was yet another abysmal week for approvals. After 3 weeks of this ####### I'm going to take a break and force myself not to even look anymore. It's just too disturbing. I'm also concerned that it may be the preparation for DACA renewals that was recently announced that may be the reason for the epic slowdown of IR/CR 1approvals. And I cannot even contemplate how furious I would be if that hunch were to prove to be a reality. So it's break time for me. I am going to refrain from looking at the numbers here on VJ for a while and stop watching USCIS' display of utter incompetence and lack of compassion for families. his thread needs to turn positive again and I know I'm not helping.

I find it so frustrating (no offense, anyone) to see how quickly they seem to approve fiance visas as opposed to spousal. And then to read the stories about how the 'fiance' from another country bailed on their partner as soon as they were married.
You'd think they would want to more quickly approve established relationships......sigh. It will be close to 6 years together by the time I get moved Stateside to live with my husband.

Just venting. I know our approval will be anytime now, but I'm struggling to be patient!!

Peace all.

Hopefully someone has the answer for me on this.

I hate my job. I'm only working it to show spousal support. But with a hopefully soon upcoming approval date, I do not want to leave it and find something else. I was wondering after I send it my spousal support can I quit my job? I want to leave and go back and spend time with my husband (for awhile) and come back and look for work again.

Do you think they will deny me? Do I need a job to show for his interview?

My mother is helping me with support too.

Daca won't have any impact until September. Forms are going out late May x

I thought the same thing a few weeks ago. It shouldn't impact us based on announced timelines. But then I remembered this is the government and USCIS we are discussing so anything is possible. They defy logic. I'm sure they aren't processing any DACA forms but it may be possible they are preparing. Meetings, workflow designs, training. Only God knows. But it any event they certainly are not focused on kicking out approvals for our group for whatever reason.

Agree. I'm doing a massive letter round to go out at my six month mark. Including Leahy and Sanders, the two Vermont senators. I'll post my letter here when done. It won't be applicable to all but we should share ideas. I'm staying positive though. I'm hoping for approval during May when my wife is here for two weeks so we can celebrate together. If not, she can take the snail mail versions back to post ;)

Isn't Leahy also chair of the house immigration committee?

Sorry, the senate. I recall him chairing the immigration debate.

lol, oh I don't know. I'll be writing to them all anyway. I'm sure I'll re-familiarise myself with them all again when I, eventually, get back to the States. I get too angry with US politics and I don't need that on top of British politics. I get too involved and we have our own nutters that need keeping an eye on.
