Without divulging any personal information, how many people here will see any change to their healthcare plan? Plenty of threads to discuss the implications on a societal level, so lets talk about how it will affect us here.

As for my wife and me.......... there has been no change. BUT there may be a change at the end of the month. If so, I'll let you guys know.

My plan is through my employer so it will stay approximately the same. I haven't finished going through all the changes listed. About 150 brand name medications will no longer be paid for through my prescription health plan. I don't use any of them now but it's a PITA for those who take brand name drugs with no generic available.

On the bright side, I like not paying copays for my yearly visits (physical, pap) or birth control. I am saving roughly $240 a year.

I got a letter from my insurance carrier that said my plan will be dropped in a few months. I'll get to pay more for a higher deductable.

i am changing plans next year regardless, so I have nothing to report at the moment.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Employer is considering making changes next year, I think the Anthem group plan is changing and jumping in price (thus far I don't pay into it). We buy individual for my wife, it has no change other than the typical 4% increase.

I won't see any change, we already went through this in Mass about 7 years ago with Romneycare. We did switch from a regular 80/20 plan to a PPO with a $1K deductible, but our payments actually went down by about $40 per month.

I would like to know the specific changes that people are facing with the ACA IE: How much were you paying previously and what coverage you had, compared to how much you will pay and what coverage you will receive under the ACA.

My work plan is changing for the better.

And my mom (once the freaking website works) will get significantly better insurance with premiums capped at 8-9% of household income as opposed to the garbage (plan doesn't pay for more than 10 days of hospitalization per year) she pays for now (premiums over 50% of HHI).

i had my insurance paid by my company, never paid attention to what was what, as it was part of a group payment that I had handled. When I sold my company in April, my insurance package continues till the end of this year.

Since I'll be a student in the spring term, I am taking the student insurance for myself and my wife through a university. It's about 1100 per semester for both of us. Haven't studied what's what yet, just know the amount per semester.

Since there was a geographic move involved, I can't speak of 'do I get to see the same doctors' or 'Do I get to go to the same hospital'.

No change that I'm aware of so far. My premiums are paid in full by my employer like last year, I have the same doctor, same co-pays (in fact MORE drugs appear to be covered), etc. I got a flyer from Anthem Blue Cross this week telling me that they'll now pay for me to get two new hooters if I ever have a mastectomy of even one #######, which is nice, I guess. Apparently as a woman they don't want me to worry about how perky my boobs are if I have breast cancer.

Since next year I will be poor on paper (low Agi), I can get my wife a great subsidized policy for 5% of what it would cost me on the open market.

It will only make our premium go up 20 bucks a month to add me.

Similar coverage on Cobra would have cost me about 1600 bucks a month. I can not buy affordable health insurance because I have type2 Diabetes.
