status "At NVC"

I currently can check my status on CEAC where it shows "At NVC". I'm just curious what the next step is? I saw a lot people having AP as their status, is it part of the process? How long does it take to send out the case to the US embassy? Thank you all.

8/9/2013 Mailed Application via USPS

8/19/2013 NOA1 notification message received

8/21/2013 NOA1 hard copy received

8/21/2013 Alien registration number has been changed

9/27/2013 NOA2 notification message received

10/2/2013 NOA2 hard copy received

11/4/2013 NVC received, Case# assigned

11/6/2013 In transit to US embassy

Ours had the status At NVC from Nov 1-5. Yesterday, it changed to In Transit.
